MTV has a preview of their version of the trailer that is supposedly more extended than what is currently showing in front of Sorority Row. We’re sure some observant person will correct us if we are wrong, but we don’t remember the picture of shirtless Edward with Bella standing on the steps in the footage that that has leaked all over the Internet.
Nope, I don’t remember that part either. I think that’s the part she’s telling him she’s scared (in the leaked trailer)..but that was it.
That’s not them on the steps (when Edward is about to expose himself to the sun). That’s them in the Volturi’s lair. And *that* IS in the leaked footage

OK, I have a neg comment- I hate all this throat holding and fighting they’ve added—it was the tension so thick you could cut it waiting for a fight that made you hold your breath….they seem to be more worried about the colors of the cars then sticking to the story…I know, the liberties thing, but still, there was plenty of fighting in eclipse….leaving on a good note…the wolf looked better.
tension wouldnt make for a good movie, it would just be a big letdown(BD) if there was no fight or something to bring the excitement back up…
I disagree. Some of the most intense thriller type movies don’t actually involve any fights. All you need is the appropriate tone and you can have a very intense interesting movie.
i guess you’re right but i cant remember any recent movie that has done that w/o an action scene w/in the tension buildup or after the buildup. that would make for an interestingly boring movie w/ no excitement..

The trailer looks amazing, I’m really impressed that I like it because I’m very skeptical regarding the New Moon storyline! Definitely my least favorite book of the series, but the wolves look delicious on screen XD

This preview was on tube and was removed with in minutes of being posted. I had just gotten lucky and stumbled upon it when doing a New Moon search. I saved the link went to show my son and it was gone. Like I said with in minutes. It is worth watching! I very much look forward to seeing it again and again.
Yeah, a couple of them weren’t in the leaked trailer. Just saw Soroity Row, so I saw the trailer on the big screen. My mom said that the wolf pack(as humans) looked like Chippendales’ workers, with the way they were walking shirtless. lol

Hmm… that wasn’t there. Does that mean there is more. That doesn’t look like, “I’m scared.” Also, why is there a fight scene with the Volturi. Also, why did this one guy get his head cut off. That never happened in the book. Edward never got touched by the Volturi. Jane just did the thing with his mind. Hopefully, it isn’t that far of a stretch from New Moon book. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
you have to see the movie as separate entity. dont expect the book on the screen.
I agree. Having been through this with the Lord of the Rings films vs. books, I’m really tired of the ‘But it’s not in the books’ comments. No, it’s a film, not a book. They are two different media and require different scenarios to make them work. One can be a lot more leisurely with books.
That guy that gets his head cut off is one of the Volturi’s victims that are taken into the lair after Edward and Bella’s release, I think…:)
To those who every little detail bothers them-GET OVER IT! Its an adaptation. They can add a few more cool things that they could make make sence and it doesnt take away from the story! Its going to be amazing just let it be. Its a movie. There’s gotta be that drama and action.! Chillax people!
Thank you! Even if they add a few things i’m sure it will be awesome… there’s always going to be someone that expected a certain part that was in the book that wasn’t in the movie…a little extra action would’nt hurt…
i actually like the action, it shows how dangerous and powerful the Volturi really are.
I agree! To be honest, I don’t think your average viewer would get how scary the Volturi are without a little bit of a demonstration of it onscreen. Besides, when you read the scenes in the books, there are several times when a fight almost breaks out. To go just a little further and show them fighting until they get interrupted? Not that much of a stretch at all, really.
And like someone else already said, Stephenie approved everything in this film, which means she doesn’t think it’s a stretch either. Honestly, as long as Stephenie feels the movie captures her vision, I’m a happy fan.
I’m trying to wait until tomorrow to see the clip, but based on what I’ve seen so far, I’m thrilled! I really think this is going to be an awesome adaptation of a great book.
And this is something I’ve been saying ever since Twilight came out: Don’t stress the details. Every movie based on a book is going to be different from the book in some way. It HAS to be, or it isn’t a good movie. Some things about books really don’t work onscreen.
What’s truly important is that the movie captures the heart of the story, especially as Stephenie envisions it. And Summit has done even better than that, I think. So far, the Twilight movies have been some of the closest adaptations of books I’ve ever seen. They keep all the important elements. They just enhance certain parts of it.
I just watched the leaked footage for the 100th time (I know I’m obsessed too), and it does show Edward taking his shirt off like in the partial MTV clip. I can’t wait for the movie–yay. i watched the trailer on youtube. It was FANTASTIC! But i don’t think it’s shorter than the one they’re gonna show at the VMA’s. the trailer was like 2min. and 40sec. and i doubt that they’d show more than that.
yea i watched the leaked trailer too-like over and over again. it was AMAZING. it was a little over 2 min though, and i think it’ll be the same one they show tomorrow night. It seems like there isn’t much more they can add….although, i did spot a black volvo.
I have to say I went to see “Sorority Row” with NO IDEA that they were going to show a clip of the NEW trailer…i started hyperventalating…the clip was soooo good!! so excited to see the “extended” clip at the VMA’s.
I just got back from watching Sorority Row because it looked like an all right movie (it is soooo I Know What You Did Last Summer). Anyways, they showed the clip for New Moon and I have to admit, it was great but it totally tells the ENTIRE movie. Eveything. Why Edward left Bella, Bella and Jacobs friendhip, Jacob being the rock to lean on, Bella jumping off of the cliff to “hear” Edward, Edward thinking Bella was dead, Bella going to Italy to save Edward and Jacob getting mad over it

I agree with you. The trailer does tell you the entire story, and it isn’t because I’ve read the books. You don’t have to know the storyline to be able to tell when the entire movie is in the trailer! I could name dozens of movies that I didn’t bother with because the storyline was so obvious. I think some people who edit these trailers are the same ones who can’t tell you about a movie without saying “and then at the end …”
Ever think that maybe you only recognize it as showing the entire movie because you know the story?

About the preview pictures themselves, WOW. I especially love the shot of Bella and Edward in the water. It’s so creepy, just like how I pictured it! I’m so glad Chris Weitz didn’t shy away from the darker parts of this story.

i was on newmoonthemovie.com around midnight last night and the full trailer was there about 2:20 min i got up this morning to let my sister in law know and it is gone…so i got to see it and good lord it is awesome…but its not there now…i wonder if it was a mistake to have it up on there…too funny now i dont have to watch the VMAs!

So… I type in new moon on you tube this morning just for the heck of it and lo and behold… the new trailer is there. I thought I had skipped a day and somehow missed the VMA’s! LOL I clicked on it and let me just say… Kristen is going to prove the nay-sayers wrong. It was chock full of emotion and I really think New Moon is shaping up to be one hell of a movie! Woot! Can’t wait to see the trailer again tonight! (By the way… you tube took the trailer down within an hour… what luck that I saw it!)
To the throat holding comments. They do it b/c it’s almost like holding a venomous snake. You wouldn’t just push a poisonous snake up against the ground and leave it’s head free to do whatever. Remember their teeth can rip each other apart, and they’ll do what they can to keep that from happening.
i saw the trailer this morning on youtube and i watched it more than 10 times .when i saw the part where bellas in her bed room and she starts screaming i started crying. im definately gonna have to bring kleenex with me to the movie theater.
