Haha, only 500 dollars? I think I’ll order one tomorrow.
I just love internet sarcasm.
The song is really good! I heart Death Cab though…
Umm, April Fool’s Day was five months ago. Who can really afford sending $500 on a soundtrack, even if it does come with all the extra goodies?
So the preview of the song sounds kinda craptacular….
LOL!
I second that, it sounds awful to me! Hope the rest of it is a lot better, the Twilight soundtrack was awesome but if this song is anything to go by for the new moon soundtrack i aint getting my hopes up!
Grrr! My computers not working at all at all so I can’t hear the song! Just have to wait til VMA’s.. Ugh But then there’s Russell B.! Ha not cool.!
Geez 500! Thats mad!
I can envision the song being good for Jacob.
it’s not a Bella/Edward song, IMO (the sound is wrong).
But then again, I guess NM is sort of all about Jacob, so whatever.
that thing for $499 is ridiculous! why would i want that? it’s completely unnecessary.
for that amount of money the CD has to deliver it to me Robert Pattinson himself.
I second that.
lol…500 bucks? thats like my cell phone bill….WASTE!! and really wats worth the 500 bucks? a poster a couple stickers and a plaque with ur name? i can get a piece of cardboard and write my own name on it and glue the cds to it…lol…500 bucks….i dont even have the money to buy jeans for crying out loud!
The song sounds sooo awesome! New Moon is gonna be great!
$500? Do they realize that most of the readers are young adults or teens? We can’t afford that! Geesh.
I am concerned about the song, especially since it was written for the movie. The song that Perry Farrell wrote for Twilignt was awful. I am also hearing a lot of male groups being mentioned and not female voices. The story is about Bella’s pain and feeling alone, it would be hard to capture that with a male singing.
I don’t think whether the singer is male or female makes it easier to show Bellas pain and feeling alone. Stephenie Meyers soundtrack for Bella in NM are of mostly guy singers. It depends on the song, not really the singer.
As for people writing a song FOR the soundtrack, Paramore did that, and the songs turned out great.
Is it just me, or is it ridiculous to order a soundtrack when I only know 1 song on it so far, and the preview doesn’t even give me the whole song. I bought the Twilight soundtrack because the music was good, not because it was Twilight related. What sense does that make? Just give me the song list already! And who has actual CD’s anymore? Why would I need to preorder it when I’ll download it when it is available?
I have to agree with many others…that song kinda sucks. I really hope the rest of the songs are better. I love the Twilight soundtrack. I have it on CD, my ipod and computer. Paramore and Linkin Park are my 2 fave bands and they really set the bar high on the first soundtrack. I guess we’ll have to just see what happens though!
Yeah not so impressed with the song choice. It’s a bit scary to me that this was the first song they decided to release to start the soundtrack promotion. Yuck!!
The Twilight soundtrack was really listenable, of which is unusual for movie-related stuff, as most of the time you’ll find one or two songs and then lament you spent so much money just for those two songs.
I am more concerned about the score though. Hopefully with a bigger budget, will mean a really good score. Twilight’s score was one of the worse I’ve ever heard. Budget is no excuse either. I recently discovered the full score to “Company of Wolves” of which was an indie production, and that score is dangerously beautiful. I swear if Summit delivers another craptastic score, I my ears will bleed.
In truth I ain’t interested in listening to music I will hear on the radio, I want to hear the soul of the movie, and that comes from its score.
I know everyone’s taste in music differs, but I strongly disagree with you on the Twilight Score. I thought that music was perfect for the movie. It had that mysterious, emotional feel that fit perfectly with the movie. I listen to both soundtracks all the time.
I agree who really wants all that stuff.I mean come on $500 dollars. Thank You, but no thanks. I don’t care if it’s one of 50. I can use that money to pay off part of my college loans.
I agree with Noah. The score is ‘the backbone of a movie’, plus you can always check YouTube for the songs on the soundtrack. I’m not going to spend money on something I’ll get tired of listening. And who would pay $500 for a couple of things just cause it has Twilight printed on it. I can make my own stickers and posters for practically nothing!!
The song sounds great, but I think I’ll wait to order/buy the soundtrack until I see all the versions that are being offered. Barnes & Noble, Amazon and iTunes all offered different versions of the “Twilight” soundtrack.
I definitely agree with this! I’m sure I’ll buy a copy of the soundtrack at some point. But I remember last year I bought a hard copy of the Twilight one at Borders, only to find out the version on iTunes came with more songs. (My sister ended up getting that version and sharing the extras with me.) That’s one of the main reasons I think I’m going to wait and see what comes out.
Lol, apparently it’s just the Twilight plaque that costs so much (the five-hundred dollar option). You can get all the other extras for 35 dollars, which isn’t that bad. Personally, I’ll probably wait rather than pre-order, just to see what the songs are like before I buy.
I think I like the new single, but I’ll have to hear the whole thing before I know for sure.
It’s not quite as instantly loveable as Decode was, but then again, I liked Paramore before I liked Twilight, so that might have something to do with it. But I’m sure it will grow on me.
I still don’t like Decode even though I sorta like Paramore… but at least we can rest easy knowing that, most likely, this song will just play over the end credits the way Decode did
Oh…and pre-ordering the soundtrack without knowing any of the other songs, with the hopes that they aren’t terrible? That sounds like the worst lottery ticket EVER.
$500?? Are they high?!?! There is no way I am paying that much money for a soundtrack and a bunch of other stuff that I will probably look at once and then throw in my closet. And they only let us hear a snipet of ONE of the songs on the soundtrack…and from what i heard i dont really care for that song anyways. In truth, the Twilight soundtrack wasnt all that good for me. I only liked like 3 or 4 songs. Imma have to agree with most of u guys and just wait until it is available so that i can know what i am spending my money on.
WHat happened to us being in a recession? I think I can duke it out waiting in line at Target
yeah excuse me while I go pick that $500 off the money tree growing in my back yard.
Ummm… yeah… I’ll just go out and find a money tree and grab five hundred dollars… none of that in price actually equals up to 500… maybe 50 but not 500 are you people on crack?
I like to download the songs from internet. I will definitely use this soundtrack to download my favourite songs.

I really like the song! I was a bit unsure about how it’s going to work out, because I’m not a huge fan of the band, but I wasn’t a fan of Paramore and I still love Decode and a few other songs! I’ll be positive this time, and I’m sure I’ll love it when I hear it full!
Oh and $500 is just ridiculous!! I have already pre-ordered New Moon soundtrack from Amazon for only $9.99, which is just a solid price for a CD. They are not normal….
that song just doesn’t sound right. They should have some sort of melody that portrays Bella’s emotions. like “my immortal” by evanescence . i mean i knew they would never put that song , but they could’ve created something similar.
seriously? $500? lol. funny.
that thing … $500? was that a typo on behalf of summit? should it be 49.99?? …
are people really that crazy?! hahaha
times like these and people have $500 to waste on a digital download and a bunch of stickers. sorry to seem like such a, you know, pirate, but uhm, anyone ever been to the bay? it’s free. torrents.
Milking it for all it’s worth. The sad thing is someone out there is actually going to buy it.
So let me make sure I’m getting this.
$500 for the cd a t-shirt and a plaque.
Umm… no, I don’t think so.
I thought I had mistaken, but it really costs $500. Do they actually think someone will buy it? I really don’t think it’s worth it. Now I’m 100% sure that they’re taking advantage of us.
…..are they mentally ill?
who the hell is going to pay that for
something that is worth maybe 50 bucks…
wow.
