New Moon Premiere Date Announced on Theater Site

Cullen Boys Anonymous dug this info up. We are awaiting confirmation from Summit. Given that it’s Labor Day Weekend, this probably won’t happen until at least Tuesday.

The date does seem to make sense in that it parallels exactly the timing of last year’s premiere.  It also would be at the same location. Interesting side fact is that the premiere was initially booked at the famous Mann operated Grauman’s Chinese Theater, and then it was moved to the Westwood properties, so these things do change.

There is no word as to premieres in other countries. Last year there were premieres in both London and Tokyo.

As the Mann website states, they do not sell/give out tickets to premieres. That goes through the studio. Premiere tickets are usually only given to those directly involved with the film, their staff, and those with entertainment industry connections. So please do not call the theater looking for tickets.

Last year fans were able to line the fringes of the red carpet. They camped out for about three days to do this. we don’t know whether that will be allowed again.  Also, camping on street is subject to local ordinance. No word on how the local governing agencies are going to be about people camping out.

Comments

  1. I’m not sure how the movie business works, but it says Sony is distributing it. Wouldn’t it really be Summit?

  2. That will be so awesome if it premieres on November 16 because the phase of the moon on that day WILL BE a new moon. So cool!

    • I think it was another typo, cuz from what I heard, the premire IS on teh 16th, and I didn’t know that! That’s awesome!

  3. I am so there again!!!!

  4. I SO want to go, but I SO cannot.

  5. there better be a premiere in london cos if there’s not I WILL GO MAD !!!!!!!!!!!

  6. London’s one, please and thank you. And this time, more than Rob, Catherine and a delightfully grumpy Kristen could turn up?

  7. sweeeeeeeeeeeet.
that’s the day of my actual birthday.
i really hope that date doesn’t change.
will definitely be there none the less.
    :]

  8. does anyone know when the UK premier will be??

  9. I would like to point out that people did not start camping out 3 days in advance. I know the people that were at the front of the line and they started waiting on Sunday morning, for the Monday premiere (I’m trying not to be specific..).

As for me, I went straight after the TwilightLive Podcast at Borders. (Which was totally BOMB btw. Lauren S as emcee was fantastic, as were the podcasters, and it was so nice and organized. No crazy screaming fans attacked the actors, like I had originally anticipated. *sigh* I really hope that they do this again. It was so much fun getting to hang out with the fans and make new friends.)

Anyway, my friends and I went there straight from the podcast, and started waiting in line at about 4. (And we got to stand at the front of the barricades.) So it kinda depends on luck of the draw, I think, as to where you end up on the carpet (if you even get in). Because the line stretched for a WHILE, from what I saw, and arrival times varied from the afternoon when I showed up, to late evening, to the wee hours of the morning…

Oh well. I hope this information is correct, because it would fit SO much better into my schedule… Haha.

  10. I’m confused. Why is the New Moon premiere being held at two different locations? Are they trying to trick us? All I know is I have to be where the stars are…and you ladies know why. ;] <3

  11. Has this been confirmed by Summit? Because in the Vogue official rules for tickets to the red carpet premiere it states the premiere is on November 18th and the winner must be able to travel to LA on November 17th, returning on the 19th…

So is this a change? OR are there two events? OR is the above incorrect?

  12. Has this date ever been confirmed? The New Moon listing for the 16th was removed from the Mann Theater website shortly after this news broke.

  13. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but its confirmed the twilight saga new moon will only premiere in los angeles,ca and knoxville, tn at regal pinnacle stadium 18. The LA premiere is Nov. 15 and the Knoxville premiere is Nov.17 and the only way 2 get tickets at the knoxville premiere is to enter a drawing at regal pinnacle stadium 18 on Oct. 9-11. Check the official story at http://www.knoxnews.com

  14. Jennifer is correct, however the TN showing is technically not a premiere but a charity event. There will be some cast there for a red carpet I believe but this is a fan showing bsically where you must pay $100 if you are selected and all proceeds go to charity.

  15. I registered yesterday in Knoxville to win tickets to the New Moon premiere event. My mom registered too so I have two chances to win. I am so stoked! Cross your fingers for me people! I drove all the way from Chattanooga (two hours) to register. I had family to visit there anyways so I made it a little day trip. I also drug two toddlers along with me. :)
