I AM A BIG FAN OF BUFFY AND ANGEL. Angel is more hot than Edward. I really believe that Angel (played by David Boreanaz) is the most hot, sexy and smart vampire ever. None is better than him. I think the 1# in a list of the more powerful and sexy vampires need be Angel there. ANGEL/ANGELUS TEAM!

I follow/read the true blood series, the house of night series and the night world series (includes other mythical creatures). None of them are as good as twilight though lol.

i know its not the best writting but the story line is soo original that i just want to know wat happens next

I just started reading the Sookie Stackhouse books -halfway through the first one. I enjoy it and ya know, I watched True Blood before reading the books so I already have them in mind while reading. I actually think the show does a good job of portraying the characters and what happens in the book. Idk, I guess I’m easy to please that way. But yeah, I never thought of myself as a person who liked vampire books/movies/shows…but I kinda do now. I think I am just into stuff when people have extra senses or powers and stuff..not just because they’re vampire…cuz I love stuff w/ witches in it…and I also loved heroes …so I think it’s a “powers” type of thing for me. Eh. lol.

Twilight is of course the best vamp book, hands down. But I suppose I think that because I’ve never liked horror or anything too gruesome, which vampire stuff often is. I haven’t even read Anne Rice’s novels because I heard they were really violent. Maybe I’m just a wimp.
That being said, I actually have stumbled across this vamp series, Blue Bloods. It kind of stereotypes and can be a little hokey sometimes, but the story lines are reallllly addictive and really paint a vivid get-away. And the cliff hangers are crazy! I think the new one comes out in September.

I’m surprised that NO ONE has mentioned the other vampire series that I absolutely love. I even read through ALL the comments looking for a mention of it. It’s called the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. It’s six books long with a seventh coming out in December. It’s categorized as a Romance, and the covers might look a little dodgy–something reminiscent of a harlequin, but I assure you, it is ANYTHING BUT some regurgitated cheesy harlequin romance story. And while it does employ familiar clichés, like the “damsel in distress” scenario, the way it’s written, the events manifest in totally different ways, so THAT in itself, is interesting to find out. It’s definitely not a series for young adults–and you’ll understand why once you read it–but I definitely recommend it. If I could describe it, it’d be like Blade and Underworld + Twilight’s love story.

I also love the Underworld movies. Although, only the first two. I HATED Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. It was terrible. There was practically NO continuity between the previous films and the third. The 3rd film went and changed the story. Anyway…I’ll shut up before I start ranting. But I love the first two Underworld films, along with that, I too, love Moonlight. (My mom’s a fan too!)I wish they could un-cancel it because it was so sweet and I just loved the story. I’ve been trying–and failing miserably–at reading Interview with the Vampire, but I’m about 42 pages in and I’ve since stopped reading it for now. College and life got in the way during the reading process so I’ve since been putting off finishing it.

As for True Blood, I sadly do not get HBO and while I could easily find it online, I’m not motivated to do so. Nor am I motivated to read the books by Charlaine Harris. I find it very off-putting to have your main characters named Bill and Sookie. I just can’t imagine reading about “Bill the vampire”. My personal image of a vampire is refined and elegant, not necessarily a suit-wearing, foreign-accented, ludicrously rich tall, dark and handsome guy. But personally, I would think a vampire would have a much more eloquent name than Bill. (Character names are a pet peeve for me. I need to like their names) Then Sookie makes me think of soot and cookies, which leads me to think of soot-flavored cookies. THAT in itself is off-putting. (Who would want to eat soot-flavored cookies?) And I know it’s very judgmental–judging a book by its cover, or in this case, characters. I’ve got nothing against the series, I just know myself well enough to not be able to endure reading or hearing those names over and over again. It’ll drive me nuts. (I have very, very strange pet peeves. This happens to be one of them) But I may or may not one day read/watch the series. We’ll see.

Hmmm…trying to think of what else I’ve read/watched. I haven’t read a lot of vampire books. Twilight was my first vampire series but I’ve loved watching vampires long before that. Oh, well, seeing as the 90s consisted of my childhood, I grew up watching Buffy too–never really watched Angel, though. I saw a couple episodes and that was it.

I got that issue on Friday and it was awesome… I have to admit that i am a vampire book junkie and i have read about 5 or 6 different series. I have 2 that are my ultimate favorite, well after twilight that is. the first being Lyndsay Sands Argenau Series. That series is so funny and u don’t really have to read them in order because each of them deals with a different story. The other would be Christine Feehan’s Dark series. Those i would recommend to read in order. They just flow better.

My all time favorites are Anne Rice’s books. I read them even before Interview with a Vampire was made into a movie. Buffy the Vampire slayer is an OK read, but good TV program in its own way. Personally, I just can’t find myself reading Sookie Stackhouse books. Maybe the show will entice me more when I finally see it. Has anyone seen the Underworld movies? I think they are pretty good, too! Now, if anyone asks, I would recommend the Twilight series. Stephanie protrayal of the anquished vampire is just too irristable to put down!
