“A year ago I couldn’t get a date. Now the world has gone backwards. I can have any 14 year old that I want.” says the British actor Robert Pattinson, who has become overnight, the new It Boy thanks to his character Edward Cullen.
What do fans say about you when they meet you in person?
They are increadibly opinionated. They have very clear ideas as to how I should live my life. Who knew 15 years old could be so moralistic?”

All the 14 year old girls are most likely to be screaming “YES” but to me a 24 year old it was a little weird! But like you said it might just be one of his sarcastic jokes, I dont know??

I think he was actually trying to be… modest, other than funny. He could have said “any supermodel I want” but instead he chose to make a funny remark, like you know, it’s not that he gets to have supermodels now, since most of his fans are teenagers. So, in my opinion, it’s not sarcasm, it’s only a (poor) joke.
Yeah I guess your right, he’s always being funny in interviews, so it was most likely a joke gone wrong.

The vast majority of the girls that are interested in him now are 14 years old, that’s the joke.

He’s DEFINATELY being sarcastic, guys. He’s making a joke out of the fact that all the screaming girls throwing themseleves at him are really young…like 14.
He wasn’t saying he was going to date a 14 year old! He was jokingly saying that’s who he could get now, like that is who likes him. He was being silly/modest. Lol, don’t make it something it’s not guys!

You can tell he totally hates his fans. He was joking that he’d want a 14 yr. old, but he’s just sickened by them.
Hate to be pessimistic- but it comes off that way everytime. It’s the same with Kristen Stewart, too.
Whatever- however overzealous the fans are , they’re what get him rolling in dough.
He doesn’t ‘totally hate his fans’. Quite the opposite. He has said several times how much he appreciates his fans and how much energy he gets from them. What do you mean ‘comes off that way everytime’? No it doesn’t. He’s just baffled by the attention, he can’t understand why everyone’s so excited about him. And you have to admit, the craziness of some fans, recently on the set of Remember Me, is pretty shocking. I wouldn’t blame Rob for hating his fans. Some people just can’t behave themselves. Even though the fans are the reason for Rob’s success, it doesn’t give us the right to treat him badly.
Rob was joking lol. Seeing how some of the 14yrs act I can see why he’d make the joke. LIke Tess said. I do feel 4 the guy those fan girls..*shudders* they need to get lives. I mean I love Rob but COME ON! Yes I would giggle & what not but not mob him! He’s a human being who every one happens to know. lol.

I’m not obsessed with Rob at all.The books and the movies are two completely different things for me.And not to offend anyone,I will always love the books more than the movies.Of course the cast loves their fans and they appreciate us, but they also need their privacy and want to be like normal people too.
Couldn;t agree with you more. Rob seems nice enough, he’s definately not a boring interview. Its the books and Edward I love so much. As for what Edwards draw is, it is his manners, something that lacks today, he is a gentleman, also his committment to Bella and his family. Its so many things, the respect, the kindness, those values are rare today. Go Edward! Thanks Steph! We just needed to be reminded what qualities rock!

I don’t think Rob hates the genuine fans. The crazies who mob him and wait outside his trailer, and refuse to give him a little thing called privacy are what freak him out. Imagine not being able to walk a block down the road without being mobbed, pushed, groped, and shouted at by dozens of people you don’t know. That would freak anyone out.
He is actually very nice with normal fans. There was a posting on one of the websites a few days ago from a fan who saw Rob on the street while shopping in New York City on Sunday, July 4th.He was by himself, no security. She has two pictures with him posted as well. The girl is from Quebec,her name is Julie. She is writing that he was very-very nice about a normal fan. Julie run into him twice on the same day and he asked her on the second time if she would like another photo. She is also saying that he is very shy in person.
