Q. Dear all-knowing Oracle: I heard a rumor that The Scientist by Coldplay (obviously) was going to be on the New Moon soundtrack. Is this true?

The Oracle replies:It’s very likely that a Coldplay song will end up on the soundtrack to the Twilight sequel given that Stephenie Meyer has credited Coldplay, amongst others, on the inner sleeve for “being instrumental in staving off the writer’s block”.
Of course nothing has been officially stated but as a fan which Coldplay song, new or old, do you think best fits with New Moon???

The Scientist is an amazing song and would be great on the soundtrack!
Some other good songs by Coldplay that would definitely suit New Moon/Twilight Series are: Shiver, Yellow, Fix You, Don’t Panic, A Whisper and honestly, so much more!

Fix you and the scientist NEED to be on the nm soundtrack. Those will always remind me of Jacob and Edward.
On a different subject, did they ever choose the song for which song represents Edward in New Moon? I was looking for it, but maybe I missed it.

I think that Fix You would fit a little bit better, but The Scientist is so sweet. Other songs that would be great are Shiver, Warning Sign, A Whisper, Swallowed in The Sea, til Kingdom Come…Coldplay has many beautiful songs that would fit.

Both Fix You and The Scientist are great! Fix You is the perfect song for Jacob and The Scientist is a great one for Edward. Shiver is an okay song for Jacob, but would be better in Eclipse, I think. But Trouble, I think, is almost as good as The Scientist for Edward, if not the same.
i agree with everyone and think fix you would be an amazing song! i also think what if would be awsome, cuz ive connected it to when bella looses edward, and ive also connected to some of my relationship:( so i know it works ahahahah. for future possible soundtracks, i think death and all his friends would work for breaking dawn. ahahah i know, a little early, but it would be awsome

I love “The Scientist” by Coldplay! Such a great song. I wasn’t into Coldplay until I heard that song. One of my fav songs off the Twilight Soundtrack was the one that MuteMath did, so it would be wonderful if they were included again. Wooot! I <3 Music!

I’ve been hoping for a Coldplay song on the soundtrack. I love Coldplay and I think so many of their songs would be so appropriate for NM. That would be awesome!

but “fix you” is of course the most appropriate song lyrics-wise. but “trouble” would be really good for when edward comes back, because the lyrics go like this -

and “yellow” is the perfect romantic song too. ^_^

I just listened to some Mutemath on their MySpace page and I think their song “You are mine” would be perfect in New Moon for any scene where Bella, in Jacob’s company, realises she is healing and that she has genuine emotion for Jacob.
It’s a comfortable sound that evokes a sense of peace and ease.
What does anyone else think?
Please, NO MUTE MATH and COLDPLAY on soundtrack… I love these band too much
