With the hair and a side shot they look somewhat alike a little bit buI guess. But with the wonder of heavy make up and a hair cut she is going to totaly fit the role. What a great chance too Joan Jett is awesome!
Don’t know maybe it’s because I am sculptor I see the differences more so then others? …. My friend said they do kinda look alike tho. hehe
All I see is that Kristen’s eyes are set further apart, shape of the eyes are different, nose is more slopped and more button and her lips are more shaped, (points closer together) then Joan. Now the face shape and cheek bones are almost spot on hehe

The featured photo is not current. The last time I saw Joan Jett she had her hair cut really short and close cropped, shorter even than Taylor Lautner’s style, but it looked amazing on her.It featured her eyes and flattered her face and cheekbones.Did I mention she was currently blonde?!
yeah I know its not “current” currently she has a crop and blonde, the one is more “recent” as in vs young joan tho. Like the time frame Kristen is playing. She looks great still! Specially for her age. I hope I canlook that good when I reach up there

I love this cut on Kristen. The color too. When I first saw her in this photo I thought she looked like Joan Jett. In the side-by-side, not so much. But, I can see that Kristen can certainly portray the spirit of Joan, which I am sure is more important.
Another thing the side-by-side reveals is, not only is Kristen gorgeous, but this isn’t a favorable comparison for Joan. Of course Kristen would outshine most who are compared to her.
I do not like her new look. Her hair is to black and it does not do anything for her at all.They do not look simliar at all the only thing that looks simlair is there position.

I think she looks great and enough like Joan Jett to play her in a movie. I don’t think they are exactly looking for clones.
It’s great she put herself out there and cut her hair, dyed it and is taking vocal lessons, she obviously really wants to do this the best she can.
Like Melissa said, if they are comparing, they should use a picture of Joan when she was younger. I think there would be a much closer resemblance.
Joan Jett isn’t pretty, Kristen is. If I was Kristen I would’ve worn a wig for this role. How can she cut her hair like that??!!! It’s so out of style now. Now she has to wear a wig for Eclipse!

Actually, she does Allie, Catherine Hardwicke has said that they did it to save time, and it is pretty obvious that her hair is longer in fuller in the films then in real life.

I think Kristen can play Joan Jett amazingly, looks amazing so far, but she will have to work hard.
I like how she acts, but she’s not so good. Im saying that because I can see in all of her characters a lot of herself. And when an actor is good, you almost forget is him/her playing the character. She’s not achieving that. 4 example she is not capable of being a little more mellow when she play’s Bella, just because it makes her uncomfortable…

I think she does resemble her. And to those that are upset about her new hairstyle, I’m pretty sure it will be fixed in time for Eclipse. Everyone was freaking out when Rob shaved his head, and his hair ended up growing back in plenty of time for NM. Chill guys.

Kristen is one brave girl to be cutting her hair. I wish I was gutsy enough to do something like that. I think she looks pretty good. I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Could Kristen be more gorgeous? She cuts off her hair and still looks great, like a total rock star. Long, short, it doesn’t matter. She could have chosen a wig, but instead decides to plunge herself into the role. She’s awesome, and I admire her for it.
I think they hair cut looks right on, but whoever did her hair color didn’t do a very good job, it makes her hair look too fake, like she is wearing a wig. I think it may be too black.
I want to see how it looks when its done! and also i love kristen but ill have to admit that i like her hair how it was before better but if its for a role then who cares! even if it isnt who cares! she should be able to have her hair anyway that makes her feel good about herself. true fans dont care
