Edi Gathegi was one of the stars present at the SuperCon sci-fi convention in Florida. The website Twilight Actors caught up with Edi there and asked him a few questions about his role in New Moon, his co-stars, and upcoming projects.
“So, you said that you have a lot of really good friends on the set of Twilight. Do you hang out with people outside the set?
Taylor [Lautner] and I hang out with Kellan [Lutz], and Peter Facinelli hosts game night, we play poker at his house. Rachelle [Lefevre] and I are food junkies so we meet for brunch and cake for brunch. So on the Twilight movies, it is like a Twilight family, we all get along and we all understand each other. It’s fun. Vamp-camp is what we named it. Welcome to Vamp Camp!”

I think it’s great they all get along, but I rarely
hear of them hanging with the b listers, like mike or angela, or erics characters. Do they get along with them too, or is it a distance thing?
They tended not to have the same filming dates as the humans, so they don’t really know each other that well. Edi only got to know Taylor when they got sent on the Hot Topic Tour together.
I love Edi and his portrayal of Laurent. Wish that Laurent didn’t have to die. Darn you, Stephenie, for writing such a great bad vamp and darn you, Edi, for playing him so well!
I meet him there. He’s really cool. My friends suggested that I ask him something odd and not from Twilight cause everybody else would be doing that, so I asked him what’s his favorite pizza, he said he’s been having this Italian one since he’s been in Italy. And from the states he likes them with olives. Then I asked him if he liked Harry Potter and he said that he’s never seen it/read it(someone in the crowd booed at that, lol), but then he said he appreciated my forgiveness for him not reading it, lol.
Love Edi’s energy! Seems like he loves life and gets the joke.
He’s just so funny! Whenever I need a smile I watch Rachelle’s revenge on Edi and Taylor (when she busts them for singing Miley Cyrus.) Edi took it in stride(He just went for it)and coaxed Taylor into that serenade,it’s classic.You can easily see how the 3 of them grew close on that press tour. I hope the friendships made on Twilight and the “Saga Series” last long after the last scene is filmed
