Hit Fix is wondering what star/movie is going to rule this year at Comic Con ( as if there is any doubt).
They mention Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson, and Megan Fox. So what do you think? Is the New Moon panel going to be the biggest event there, or is there serious competition from Megan and Transformers?
I don’t know why Rob needs to be at Comi-con this year. I thought the whole point of them doing it last year was for people to get introduced to them? They should be marketing the new people in the cast.

The new moon fanbase is way bigger then transformers by a long shot! People can relate better to awkward teens then alien robots.

The New Moon fanbase is bigger. Yes Transformers made more but mostly the people who go see that are ok we love it and that’s it. They really don’t care for anything transformers but the movie. My brothers go and see the movie but they don’t care about it like the TWILIGHT FANBASE CARES ABOUT TWILIGHT. So in theory the Twilight fanbase is bigger in the aspect of FANS.

True that Transformer has been around for a while… but did the Transformer fans have a count down for the movie poster or have a heart-attack over a 2 minutes trailer? I’ve never seen anything so massive… You mention Twilight anything and you automatically have 50 chicks turn around.
Transformer was watched by everyone, while Twilight was only supported by fans. You have Hottopic, Barnes and Noble, Borders and Walmart go all Twilight. Of course Transformer is a WAY better directed movie and it’s WAY better looking with WAY better acting, but the fans of Stephanie Meyer’s book LOVE Twilight. They make it what it is today. Because of them, Twilight won 5/6 MTV awards…. (ridicules!) and most of the Hottest whatevers.
Twilight Fans, without a doubt are in their own category. They are insane, in their own awesome way!
I would only like to point out that not only the fans of the books watched the movie. I never heard of anything Twilight before a friend of mine recomended the movie to me, and since then I am a huge fan. I think that Twilight gained even more fans than it already had, after the movie came out. They should try to see how many books were sold after the Twilight premiere. It would be an interesing fact

I LOVE the transformers movie, but there really is no competition. & I think rob is going to be there because the people that run comic con are smart, they know who will bring the crowds in and all of their money.
Comic-con was always big, before Rob became famous. And it’s Summit that’s sending the people over.
A lot of people could care less about it though. Twilight brought a different wave of fans over to it.
Transformers has a huge fanbase because it dates back to the mid to late 80s. You’ve got guys and girls. However, the Twilight saga has the most supportive fanbase in the world. We are crazy. And even though Edward isn’t suppose to be the focus of New Moon, he really is to those on Team Edward. The whole time you’re reading it, you’re praying that Edward comes back. Trust, everyone involved with NM will get marketed. The Wolf Pack especially. Remember, it wasn’t until after last year’s Comic-Con that all the hype got ramped up. It’s gonna be sick. I can’t wait. Do you think I’ll have to line up Wednesday night?
Why would you need to line up before? If you have a ticket, wouldn’t it only be a matter of getting there early enough to get a good seat?

I think transformers does have a lot of fans, but we have more plus we are more devoted. I don’t know many transformers fans that would fly across the country for one event just to catch a glimpse of the actors.

Transformers is a big block buster movie, but doesn’t have the cult following Twilight does. I see the point that Robert doesn’t need to be there. But for a lot of true twi-hards, Edward is Twilight. I agree with Margo. Although, Edward isn’t the primary presence, he still is the primary focus for the team Edwardians (I know I just made up a word). And anyone that is going would be dissapointed if Robert wasn’t there. But I saw a short clip of last year’s comic-con and people should reserve their screaming so you can hear what the panel’s saying! I can understand that its Taylor’s time to shine and I think he definately still will if Rob’s there.
I could give two craps about Brad Pitt…I really can’t stand him and think he’s a bit overated. And Megan Fox isn’t really that big a deal.
First of all, what movie is Brad Pitt gonna marketing? Like, why is he gonna be there. Megan Fox just pisses me off because she’s so DAMN cocky and into herself. It’s ALL about Robert for me. Just to clarify, NONE of these actors have been confirmed to appear at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
Yes, there will be a panel for NEW MOON. However, no panel guests have been announced or confirmed for this. Last year, for the TWILIGHT panel, many of the more enthusiastic fans spent the night outside to line up, as having a badge does NOT guarantee that you will be admitted. Once capacity is reached, that’s it, whether you have a badge or not. It’s a fire marshall capacity rule that you can’t change.
As TRANSFORMERS opens in June, Megan Fox will not be promoting that film at Comic-Con. If she is indeed there, it would be to promote JENNIFER’S BODY and/or JONAH HEX, which are her upcoming films.
If Brad Pitt is there at all, he would be promoting INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, which opens in August.
However, at this point, none of these individuals has been confirmed to attend or be on panels at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con, and none of them may be.
You guys don’t really know how Comic-Con works. I don’t actually think Comic-Con reaches out to movie studios to promote their movie, the studios reach out to them instead.
If you guys think about it, “Twilight” doesn’t even fall under the category of Comic-Con. Over the years it has be come a movie rivalry where “comics” aren’t even the most important thing at “Comic”-Con. If it stayed a novel, that would be a different story.
and for Cara B, you’ve probably never heard of Comic-Con before they started promoting the Twilight movie. And for your information, Comic-Con was almost sold out before they even added New Moon on the schedule.
The other days were sold out but Thursday was only at 60% full until New Moon was announced.

Comic Con is huge on it’s own without all the panels of movie stars. The best tickets can sell out within hours of them starting ticket sales.
A friend who lives in San Diego waited anxiously for days for them to start ticket sales. Even though he staked out the sales he still didn’t get his 4 day pass. He’s lucky his mom came through and was able to get him a press pass from work, now he has access to things that regular ticket holders don’t. He could even get ahead of regular ticket holders for some events if he wanted.
As for Twilight vs Transformers, I think it will be 50/50 for the most part. Transformers has been around for a couple decades, and has much more time to build a fan base. Twilight on the other hand has a majority of the tween and female population firmly in it’s grasp.
Oh, hands down New Moon will be the one that gets the most attention. I mean, Transformers is big, but Twilight has the most loyal fanbase. If you compare all the screaming Twilight fans to the fans of Transformers, there is no competition.
Rob doesnt need to be there. Poor guy has alot to do. And didnt megan fox talk bad about Rob. She’s just so rude .

All I can say is that Megan Fox seemed like kind of a biotch at the MTV Movie Awards. She wasn’t really likeable in my opinion. (And if you saw the whole show you know what I mean, but the part I’m thinking of was at the beginning. Why oh why do people think of her as a sex symbol? I swear that’s all she cares about.)I hope more people go to see Rob & the cast of the Twilight Saga. They all seem like nice, likeable, fun, true to themselves people.
The only reason Megen Fox was in Transformers was just to be eye candy to the male fanbase. The original cartoon series appealed to boys alot more than girls, and i don’t think it took place on earth, but rather on another planet. I think she’s cute, but totally an unnecessary character.
