Sure doesn’t look like a horse sized wolf to me. That’s a big deal.
But I love some of the other details that Weitz has paid attention to.. like how when Laurent meets Bella the second time he IS thirsty so his eyes would be red and not the deep dark burgundy that they are in twilight with James because they aren’t thirsty then.

I loved this trailer! Taylor Lautner looks like he’s going to be great! I am a little curious though why Laurent isn’t sparkling although it appears as though he is in the sun. Other than that, I thought it was awesome!!

Love it!! Now I will read New Moon again and have a great visual!! The way that Jacob changed into the wolf was brilliant!!! This movie is going to rock I will be there for the midnight showing and will probably be crazy enough to take the day off work and go a few times till I’m too tired to keep my eyes open I don’t have vampire stamina to not sleep!! I was a little concerned about the new director but now I’m very pleased with the decision what a great fit for this book!!

While the trailer was hot, the wolf was such a HUGE letdown. It looked more like an animated character from a cartoon than a menacing, vampire-killing beast. Please Summit, hear my cry. Change the CGI wolf to one worthy of this popular series!

The trailer was amazing!

My only objection is that…well,everything is better than Twilight!!!(lol)

I know it’s too early to have a clear opinion and I really,REALLY want to congratulate Mr.Chris Weitz for his amazing work,but a few things…the makeup is way better and Kristen doesn’t seem like the zombie-like Bella from the book,the hue is warmer and brighter and makes it seem sunny(not like rainy and overcast Forks)and it also doesn’t match New Moon’s gloomy vibe nor the empty,broken-hearted Bella who copes through life.
(It might,though,represent Jacob as Bella’s “sun” and the wolf pack temperature.)

My perception of New Moon is as a never-ending nightmare-obscure,despairing,catatonic,all that and I hope that my expectations will be paid off in the end.
Besides,post-production has a long way to go yet(CGI wolves,cliff-diving etc).

PS.For everyone who is aware of the Italy scenes that were filmed a few days ago,can anyone imagine if Mr.Weitz directs Breaking Dawn what he can do with Isle Esme chapter?I can…!:D

OK, so I didn’t capture my reaction, but it was definitely mixed. I was thrilled to see it and in short I think it’s great overall. Definitely too bright–I hope they capture the feeling of Forks in the final editing. Everyone looked even more beautiful, which I definitely liked, inlcuding Laurent’s eyes–which are much mre obvious. In one scene, Robert seemed to be adopting Kristen’s head shake, which doesn’t bother me on her but doesn’t feel right on him. The fact that Jacob phased near Bella is not good–he wouldn’t let that happen. And I’m not sure that the Laurent scene and the Jacob phasing scene are actually consecutive since Kristen is wearing two different outfits, so it will be interesting to see if the whole pack attacks Laurent and if Jacob’s phasing is maybe when Paul tries to attack Bella, since it appears they are on the reservation there. Also, I hope that there is more of the drama captured after Jasper tries to attack Bella—there are “6 suddently ravenous vampires” and eventually, everyone has to leave, including Edward, leaving Carlisle behind to stitch up Bella. Right now, it just looks like they’re standing around. Again, I don’t mean to be too critical; this is a rough edit and I’m so glad that they gave us this glimpse. I have faith that they will get it right!
