Twilight Widower: Twilight Denial

The Twilight Widower is covering a classic symptom that many of us have faced: Twilight denial. As in “Who me? I’m not a Twilight fan.” You know the situation.  When faced with a self-righteous adversary, it goes something like this: we desperately try to hid the Team Edward key chain that is dangling from our car keys, and hope that no one registers that the “Lion and the Lamb” body art that we are sporting has nothing to do with sudden religious fervor.

Anyway, here is the Twilight Widower’s take,

“Once your wife has been exposed to normal society’s disdain for Twilight, she is bound to be conflicted, and you may decide to use her confusion and shame to your advantage by suggesting she permanently remove all of the Twilight merchandise from the house, or threatening to “out” her to friends and family not yet in the know.

This is the most dangerous you can do.

As with any crisis of faith, there will come what is called the “Moment of Truth.” When this time comes, your wife will be forced to choose between returning to normal society and rushing back to Forks with her arms spread wide.

While I encourage all my fellow Widowers to be optimistic, odds are she will once again choose Edward over you. ..”

This is right on! I’m so happy that there are other twi-addicts in the world. I no longer feel alone. My husband knows that he is second to Edward now. LOL!! Love this article.

  2. This is utterly brilliant! So true.
What he doesn’t mention is the wonderful reaction when she meets another Twi-hard woman and they dissolve into Twi-happy gushing!
The motivational posters had me doubled over!
I really need my husband to see this.

Or the sheer fact that if he does out her in public, there is a high chance that once he gets home, she will kick his butt (to put it nicely).

Oh and the joy of finding friends who like her are also closet Twilighters.

I love his articles they are so funny. Great stuff but the scary thing is its sooo true.

But any man that doesn’t find these books amazing has either not read them or has no emotion or imagination.
I’m a 40 year old Engineer, the guys on that site must be real dinosaurs.
    Is a little funny though!!

    Cheers

Lee, its refreshing to hear that out loud. Our bellsouth guy who takes care of our equipment in the office, he’s 36 and obsessed. He has it on audio as he’s driving around, says he spends alot of time in driveway listening. I think your numbers are many, but to many won’t admit to it…
he’s on 3 eclipse and was asking me if the 4th on on audio yet…lovin it

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to this particular area, and I need to say two things:

    1. My admition:
My name is Laura, I am 38 and I am a Twilight fan! Phew! I am SO Team Edward, although there are others who come in at a close 2nd. I am involved with a couple of websites and other “blogs.” I am also one who Tweets. It is good to admit this! Thank you Twilight Widower (and also Twilight Lexicon) for having such humorous and true blogs! Laura

    2. This is one of the best “Twilight-related” areas around..for adults..glad to be aboard..

Where’s Jaden? He would always post videos on Sunday and he hasn’t recently? Can anyone tell me?

  7. Mara says:

“Once your wife has been exposed to normal society’s disdain for Twilight,”

I know the feeling of that; every boy at my school ridicules me for the fact that I love Twilight.

  8. Magiclily says:

I never tell anyone that I’m a twilight fan. Not because I’m ashamed, but because since the movie and Rob Pattison nearly everyone is a “fan”. Yuck. I hate to talk with people about twilight who laughed at the books and only watched the movie because it was in.
A hurray for all real twilight fans!

  9. Twilightdiheart says:

Love this site…makes me laugh every time. We know we’re sick and so does the widower. LOL

I love the TW Widower site … it’s such a hoot! At one point I was a bit like his wife as far as not publicly admitting my Twi-hard status, but then one day I sort of threw caution to the winds & started buying all kinds of TW memorabilia online. Once the folks at work started noticing my TW mug & computer wallpaper (first TW scenes & then that delectable NM poster!), they got the message pretty quickly. I think they now consider me their slightly retarded team mascot, but that’s OK by me. :-D

It’s certainly no surprise that others are beginning to talk about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie.
Twilight saga is the second most searched term for 2009 on Yahoo, and the twilight eclipse certainly made a splash on Google’s lists as well. Anyone surprised? im just waiting for the eclipse movie.
