They actually do have an older age group- if you go to Brian Leaf’s website for more details, they have a 19 and older age group that can apply. They just left it out here.

Thanks for your email.
You are right.
There should have been an 18+ category.
That was a mistake.
In the next contest, we will definitely correct that and include the 18+ category.

I think it has the age categories b/c MOST (I didn’t say all) of the people buying these books will be teenagers preparing for the SAT and that is the main group they are marketing to.

“eight words”? don’t they mean eight ‘letters’?!
and it’s really disappointing that they’re limiting the contest to such a small age group. though we can’t blame them because most Twilighters are in that age category. maybe they didn’t want to be overwhelmed by such a large amount of entries. *sigh*

I saw this when I was looking for Vocabulary study guides for a huge test I’m taking this weekend.

I do have a problem with the contest though… for one… I’m 21 years old… I’m studying for the GED this weekend and its one of the tests that is covered in the book… also… a lot more people take the same tests listed on the cover who are over 18… It’s not fair to that person who should be allowed to participate in the contest.

I took the ACT at 19 and I plan on taking the SAT and CLEP exams within the next few months. And I would have loved to enter this contest… but alas I cannot due to age restriction.

There should be one more age category. 18-21

Especially since that would be the age category of those who were first on the ban wagon.But that’s just an idea.
