Guys, this has REALLY been taken out of context. He’s explained himself on numerous occasions and he made those comments way before he signed on. He was just being silly and funny.

I’m a big fan of Slade and his work. Hard Candy is one of the best films I think I’ve ever seen – Slade really captures the intensity of the situation and it’s tha energy the franchise needs after Twilight’s dreary, plodding pace. He’s also worked with Muse on several occasions and made arguably their best video to date (Sing For Absolution).

A director like him is exactly what’s needed if the Twilight Saga wants to grow up.

I agree that this is bad, but I think we need to put this into perspective.
If he stuffs up Eclipse (which he better not, or I will be the one with the gun) then we have reason to bash him and everything. Until then, I think I’m going for team switzerland.x

I agree with you totally. In it for the money, the odds are it won’t turn out very well. You have to have the Twilight spirit and love it to get the real feeling that the fans need. I listened to the audio and the way he said it I think he whole heartedly feels the way he said. I am greatly disappointed and don’t need a gory mess to enjoy the show. Makes me feel sad. Give him a second chance? I will give it my best shot but he has a long way to climb to get out of his pit.

oh common, lets cut the guy some slack.. if you listen to the audio its not as bad as the trancript makes it seem. this was WAY before he was attached to eclipse and he was even reluctant to say the comment because he knew it would make ppl upset, but the host egged him on. Its obvious he was making a joke for his twitter followers. I dont think he even watched the movie at that point, cuz at the end he says “i should have watched it”.

I’ll be ready to judge the guy once I’ve actually seen his work.
