The LA Times takes a look at the Korean version of Twilight and wonders if readers, now that the DVD is about to come out, will still have the original version of the characters in the head, or Rob and Kristen.
“For three years, the two characters lived only in the imaginations of their readers and looked however readers imagined they looked. There was room for the wispy and pastel-y Korean ideal, or any other. Any girl who loved the Twilight series could picture herself in Bella’s shoes — and house and school and Edward’s arms…”
Now we’ve all heard about the impact Twilight is having in France this week, and we recently saw obsessed fans in Japan. But how about other countries where reading is a luxury? Well one fan decided to do something about it:
“The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer has had such an amazing impact on bringing people from all over the world together to celebrate its memorable characters and its unforgettable story. If you could share one of these books with a less fortunate child in a different part of the world, would you not leap at the chance?”

Great idea! I’ll love to help and donate a copy of one of the books!
I would love to donate, too! What a great idea!
I was going to do a ball for charity (like a book drive) and I couldn’t find one that I could use… but now its a picnic and not a ball… and still in planning stage… but when i do start selling tickets I’ll deal with that…
So my question is… if at this picnic I did a Twilight Saga book drive… could I donate the books (in the name of the whole group that participated) to this charity?
Cause I would love to help, and I would love to have an actual charity to give the books to, other than a book drop.
Aww this is so cool. I live in South Africa which is located at the bottom of Africa. And this is really cool. You dont undertand how many kids here who cant afford to buy a book and donating books from across the world is just amazing!
I’d LOVE to do something like that!
i just wish pple would stop thinking that everyone in africa can’t afford anything! do you know how many pple think that africa is a country!??!? i am from east africa and where i am from, they have a lower below the poverty line than most parts of america.
Ok NezziLautnerBlack you might have money but some please in Africa don’t so chill it. if she wants to do something nice for people in Africa then let her. nobody said you had to send her your books.
On a nicer note I think what she is doing is awesome. i would help but all my book are friends books that I never gave back. hehehe (hopefully they won’t see this and ask for them back)
That’s an AMAZING IDEA! I’m so glad to see Twilighters making a positive impact on the world. I’d love to get involved in something like this.

Sweetheart, you just contradicted yourself… And yes, not every one in Africa is poor.. we know this already… just war torn in some areas (mainly Dar Fur) and has a state (country idk what to call it) with a funny name! lol Djibouti. And we all know its a Continent… its actually my bff’s last name… only she’s Italian…
All in all… we will find a way to help out those in need in Africa and hopefully the rest of the world…
Pay It Forward!
