OK, here’s the latest rumor, and we’re thinking this is a potential no brainer. It all starts with a post over on the Oh No The Didn’t community where someone read on the Madonna message boards that Ryan Seacrest said on his E! News program that Madonna might be in New Moon in the cast or on the soundtrack. Now if that last sentence doesn’t sound like the rumor mill on the 4th grade playground, we don’t know what does.
Now a bunch of media sites, who of course haven’t contacted the Ryan Seacrest show producers because they apparently haven’t heard of this thing called the telephone, or this other new fangled thing called email, have somehow morphed this into “Madonna cast in New Moon”. Pel’s response was, “As who? Mrs. Cope?”
WE ARE NOW PAUSING FOR THE SCREAMING FOR THOSE THRILLED OR NOT THRILLED.
OK, now that you are focused again. Here’s where you can help out. Did anyone who reads our blog actually hear Ryan Seacrest’s show and actually hear him mention this info? There is zip, nada, nothing to substantiate this over on E! (though various sources cite E!) and given the voracious way they have covered Twilight it seems odd that they wouldn’t put this front and center especially if one of their own correspondents got the scoop.
Usually when Ryan Secrest says something Twilight related we got a bunch of fans who email us about what they heard, and frankly we haven’t gotten a single tip from a fan who actually heard Ryan say this. So unless Ryan has suddenly lost a significant portion of his Twilight listeners, this is seeming kind of fishy to us.

By the way… I don’t want to start anyone panicking because I heard this from a friend of mine who tends to get their information wrong a lot, but she told me that Jackson Rathbone is not coming back as Jasper? Has anyone heard that? I scrolled through some blogs on here and figured if it was true or even a possibility that it would have been posted on here. So anyway, probably not true, but please let me know! That would be sooo sad! (Especially after we all fought to keep Taylor).

I honestly think she could have played a good victoria if they dyed her hair red. i also think she could play the part of the one who brings in the people to the volturi on the tours. even though she is to old for the part she still has that thing about her where people would be drawn to her. She could be one of the guards for the Volturi also. it did say when bella and edward walked in they noticed some woman among them.

I agree with Lilly.. i think she could be one of the woman guards that was mentioned in the book that Bella noticed was standing in the room with the Volturi when Bella and Edwardw were brought in. Has everyone forgotten about that?

The only thing I heard Ryan Seacrest say was on radios’s America’s Top 40 that Dakota Fanning wants a role just to be close to Robert Pattinson. Aside from that I have no clue about this Madonna stuff. It sounds like BS to me though…

I’m so praying this is just a rumor – so far, I’ve been really impressed with the decisions that Chris Weitz has been making (etc. recasting Taylor, writing the stitches scene between Carlisle and Bella, filming in Italy). Somehow, I trust that he’ll steer clear of Madonna (*crosses fingers*).

Ryan Seacrest DID say it on E! news that Madonna may be in a Twilight sequel. We heard it with our own ears. But it was MONTHS ago. And I’m NOT joking.
I didn’t hear RYAN SEACREST say this, but I did hear mention of Madonna being on the New Moon soundtrack this morning on 103.7 My FM in Los Angeles. Sorry, can’t remember the exact words, and I can’t find the gossip page at the radio’s website. I do know it made my ears perk right up, though.

I, for one, don’t see anything that Madonna can do in New Moon. Maybe the song she records can be used for the car ride to Volterra? idk. Maybe she’ll give financial contributions… or maybe she’ll find a role for her daughter (who is absolutely FABULOUS and is trying to break into the movie busines)

It’s a good thing i’m always checking up on twilight lexicon! I was actually in the car driving my husband to work when I heard Ryan Seacrest (who hosts 102.7 KIISFM here in california) say that she had taken an interested in acting in New Moon because she was a close friend of one of the guys involved in the movie of New Moon(I can’t remember his name), so Seacrest commented on how he didn’t know if she would be involved in the music of the movie or actually acting in the movie, but his guess was she would do both. Hmmm….
