Jonas Brothers New Moon Hopes

According to MTV, it looks like the Jonas Brothers have jumped on the “put me on the soundtrack” bandwagon. Although the Brothers haven’t seen the movie, they definitely understand it’s wide appeal. According to Joe Jonas, “For a lot of guys, they want superpowers. He’s a vampire, but he’s pretty strong and stuff.”

It seems like every day we get an email in our inbox suggesting a band. Usually it’s an indie, on the rise kind of group that’s stong on lyrics.  So, who do you think should be on the soundtrack?

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH WOLF GIRL.
I see the Quileutes being into more Metallica and and Iron Maiden and stuff and THAT type of music playing as they turn! NOT the Jonas Brothers for ANYWHERE in the movie. SERIOUSLY the H*ll is going on? Pleas don’t make the music in N.m be cheeesy. That definantly includes the Jonas Brothers.
I just see N.M as more hardcore.twilight was sweet and now we have N.M with the hot Quileute boys running around shirtless and i just picture them running and turning while more hardcore type music is playing.thats just how i feel. if jonas bros are in the soundtrack i am going to be so anoyed. i cant see ANY of ther songs that would involve any of the story of n.m.

  2. crepusculo says:

PLEASE NO cheesball Evansence or howver you spell it,Korn or Crap like that. ugh come on people. there is WAY better music out there than THAT.

  3. Ilana says:

    Yeeahh…no…

Sorry guys but it’s just not your thing

  4. Wolf Girl says:

Let me revise…OLD METALLICA & IRON MAIDEN! NO NO NO JONAS BROTHERS!!

  5. Melanie says:

NOT Jonas Brothers!! You know what band has great New Moon-related songs? Within Temptation.

  6. Lori says:

    Oh God please no.

  7. Viola says:

    AGREE 100% with Wolf girl!
i alwasy pictured the Quiluete boys being into old metallica and Iron Maiden and studd and thought it would be cool if they played that in the background as they ran and turned into wolves too! Joas Bros? Cant pisture it. Twilight was sweet,N.M is more hardcore bringing in the wolves! lets have the music match the movie shall we?!!!!!!

  8. Anima Bella says:

Anybody BUT the Jonas Brothers!!!! No Miley Cyrus either!

  9. Muerte says:

    I Agree with Wolf Girl!!!!!
i alsways pictured the Quileute boys being into Olda Metallica and Iron Maiden and stuff to.and especially running and turning into wolves with that kind of music playing in the background!
Twilight was sweet and N.M is a little more hardcore bringin in the wolf boys!hahaha lets keep the music wiht the story shall we?
NO JONAS BROS. sorry i just CAN NOT see how any of there music would fit ANYWHRE in N.M.
Bring on some OLD Metallica when the quileutes are hanging out!haha, yes!

  10. HayleyMarie says:

I think music that relates most to the movie should be the soundtrack. That is the definition of soundtrack isn’t it? I mean I’m not saying jonas brothers couldn’t write a song, or re-record a song or whatever, but they shouldn’t be on the soundtrack just because they want to be on the soundtrack, and we shouldn’t let them just because they’re the jonas brothers.

it goes for any big/mainstream bands. Indie bands are suggeested, not because of theyre fame but they’re music.

Can’t we just focus on that?

  11. Claire says:

a good song would be “Wolf Like Me” by TV on the Radio…

    • erin says:

i totally agree with you i picture the quiluete running around with that song in the background and transforming and stuff. ive pictured that song for the movie ever since i heard it which was when i was actually reading new moon!

  12. Muerte says:

AND PLEASE NO EVANSENCE(or however you spell it)OR Korn,or crud like that. COME ONE people,is WAY better music out ther than THAT.ugh.
i request “A Stone” by Okkerville River.for N.M or Eclpise.

  13. Billie says:

ABSOLUTELY NO JONAS BROTHERS!!! No Evanescence either, sorry….

  14. chunkymonkey14 says:

how could jonas brothers write a song for new moon. I don’t know about you but i thnk that they should stay in Disney channel. Seriously they can’t sing and what they do “sing” about is so basic and naive that a three old can figure out the theme.
If you haven’t noticed, I really don’t like the Jonas Brothers

  15. crepusculo says:

    Amen HayleyMarie,I agree!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Billie says:

Oh and I TOTALLY agree with Wolf Girl & Muerte!! FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE!! yeah Metallica!

  17. Rose Rose says:

    BLONDE REDHEAD!!!

  18. Isis says:

It’s NOT that Jonas Brothers have to do with Disney.
Its just that they suck and ther music wouldnt fit in ANYWHERE in N.M. Sorry. I want more hardcore stuff in N.M in parts like when J and B are riding the motorcyles..like Metallica, cough, cough and when they are turning into wolves. Metallica was DEFINANTLY a good suggestion and i think it would go with N.M perfectly! I’m sorry but The Quliteutes TOTALLY DO seem like they would be into that kind of music and it wouldnt be like all the ohter cheesball movies that HAVE to play the MOST Supposed music from this day and age at the moment.

  19. Krystnn says:

Let’s keep the mainstream, bubblegum pop music OFF the Noon Moon soundtrack please. They did perfect with the first one – I’d like to enjoy the second just as much. Put some bands with real, raw emotion in their music. More Muse would be awesome and The Spill Canvas has some pretty amazing songs that would fit with the movie quite well. All Over You for Jacob at the end of the book – PERFECT.

  20. Krystnn says:

    *New Moon – My bad!

  21. Ramsese says:

Its NOT that the Jonas Bros have to do anything with Disney that i dont think they would be good for N.M Its just that there music to me wouldnt fit ANYWHERE with the story.
I want more hardcore stuffin N.M in parts like when J and B are learning how to ride the motorcycles, like Metallica was a DEFINANTLY suggestion,cough,cough..think it would go PERFECT with N.M..i mean..honestly the Quileutes TOTALLY DO seem like they would be into that kind of music and it would sound good being played in the background as they are turning! It would be different and better because they wouldnt have to have ALL new types of bands in the music that are supposedly the best for this day and age and give it some variety! I hope they consider it!

  22. Corrupt says:

    Metallica and Iron Maiden..YES!!!!
    Jonas Bros… NO.

  23. No! NOT the Jonas Brothers.
    PLEASE not the Jonas Brothers.
All that’ll do is attract the 11 year old fans, and it makes it juvenile. (It’s one of my pet peeves that Twilight doesn’t get made juvenile.)
And the Jonas Brothers are just girly pop stuff.
That’s not what Twilight’s about. That’s not what the Twilight fans like.
Like someone said before, “Wolf Like Me” by TV on the Radio would be awesome for the soundtrack.
(Of course, Stephenie Meyer was the one who REALLY originally said that for Breaking Dawn, but w/e.)
But I really think they should put some Blue October on the soundtrack.
Blue October is amazing, and I think that Blue October is that exact type of music and lyrics that the Twilighters eat up. (I know I do.)
Their lyrics and music have that kind of love and pain combination to almost all their songs, so I think we need to put Blue October on there.

  24. hmmmmm says:

I agree! I think that if they did use more music like Metallica and stuff then that would DEFINANTLY bring in more of the GUYS to watch the movie! PLUS I think it would go really well with the Quileutes!I mean can you guys honestly NOT picture the Quileute boys being into music like that? it is PERFECT for them, they ooze of it!!! I hope so bad thatws taken into consideration and agree that it would be nie cuz it would be more variety into the movies music and not just have NEW music in it.

  25. Rose Rose says:

Yeah, I don’t think soundtracks have to have all NEW music on them either, definately some, but some old metal would be fitting. VERY fitting.

  26. Kathy says:

NOT THE JONAS BROTHERS FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see coldplay and some more of Robert Pattinson.

  27. Callie says:

Definitly NOT the Jonas Bros. They haven’t even seen Twilight, much less know what New Moon is about!

  28. Jamie says:

oh god….please please PLEASE dont put the jonas bros on the new moon soundtrack or any of the other twilight soundtracks….

  29. Amber says:

THE ARCADE FIRE- MY BODY IS A CAGE. I imagine this playing as Bella is running for Edward in Italy. SO PERFECT.

  30. Alica says:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JB in Twilight, New Moon or anything!

  31. Angel says:

I think their music is bit too happy for New Moon’s mood. There to “poppish” for my taste, so no, I wouldn’t like to see them on the soundtrack.

  32. Missy says:

NO NO NO, If you havn’t even seen the movie, you have no right to want to be on the soundtrack.

  33. ZayZay says:

oh my god, if the Jonas Brothers are gonna be on the soundtrack i will just… die. And not because i like them. Because i hate them.

  34. pammie823 says:

No Jonas Brothers. They don’t have to right sound for the New Moon soundtrack. I definitely think Muse should be on the soundtrack and even though I am not a fan of Paramore, I liked their songs on the Twilight soundtrack. Maybe some new, edgy bands would be nice this time around?

  35. Tori says:

I’m not exactly a fan of the Jonas Brothers, but as a muscician I’ve learned to respect what they do as what they do. I simply don’t think they have the right vibe for New Moon. They’re very lighthearted, and a little too pop for what New Moon is about. I saw Coldplay mentioned a lot and I’m a fan of their older work but their recent stuff has me very turned off. What they used to do had heart and was a change from the normal but I found their new CD bland. It sounded like one monotonous song about nothing. I’m more a fan of unknown bands with smaller fan bases. I think instead of pushing popular music to be more popular, we should use this opportunity to suggest less known bands who could become more known. Laura Marling for instance has a great low key energy that I think would be great for the soundtrack. Muse would probably be a good choice again. I would like to see some Regina Spektor on the CD as well. I’m not a fan of all of her stuff, but given the right song I think she could fit. I could see Cake, Ben Kweller, Bond (Who does a lot of profound instrumental pieces), Cat Power, and The Hoosiers on the CD because they balance the angst like rock, and soothing ballads that need to fill the movie.

  36. FoxOtter says:

All I can say is I hope they AREN’T on the soundtrack.

  37. Audrey/Edward says:

Oh, good grief. Please, in the name of all that is Twilight, do NOT let any Disney singers be on the soundtrack! Like our fandom doesn’t get enough comparisons to ‘Hannah Montana’ and the like already! Maybe their are some fans of both franchises, but that doesn’t mean they’re similar at all, and should be mixed!

  38. Jolea says:

Has anyone heard Lesley Roy’s Unbeautiful? I see Edward leaving Bella when I hear it. I also really loved Rest In Pieces by Saliva on Stephenie’s playlist.

  39. Abby says:

definitely NOT the JoBro’s, that’s for sure!

  40. Kristin says:

Do we need more proof that these little boys don’t understand Edward beyond the elloquent: “He’s a vampire, but he’s pretty strong and stuff???!!!” I mean really!

Beyond that, having listened to all of Stephenie’s playlist picks, I’m confident Edward would have ANY of those bands in his gigantic music collection. Sadly (for them), the Jonas Brothers would not have a spot in his rotation.

  41. chessley_meyers says:

As much as I love the Jonas Brothers’ music, it just wouldn’t fit with any of the twilight movies. They’re a little too….peppy and perky.

My picks would have to be Muse, Paramore, Linkin Park, and I would love to have Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor or Ingrid Michaelson do a song.

  42. Annie says:

NO! NO!NO! No Jonas BRothers! Thay are the antithesis of Edward. The best song for NEW MOON is by AXL ROSE. It is called THIS I LOVE and it is track 13 on CHINESE DEMOCRACY. It is a hauntingly beautiful power ballad that is OSCAR worthy.

  43. Katie says:

    NOOOOOOOOO!!!
the jonas brothers better not be on the soundtrack.
see this is what i was afraid of all the stars seehow big this twilight thing has happened and then they all want a piece of it. all child stars well disney and nick stars better stay out of it…..next thing you know hannah montana ick will want to be on it….lame.

    coldplay would be legit.

  44. Jen says:

If the Jonas Brothers are on the Soundtrack, it HONESTLY might ruin the entire movie for me.

DON’T DO IT PRODUCERS!! DO NOOOOOOTTTTT PUT JONAS BROTHERS MUSIC IN THIS MOVIE ANYWHERE!!!!!

    More indie unheard-of bands, please.

  45. Danielle says:

Quit whining. You can’t control who’s on the soundtrack, and I can garuntee they would write a new song for them to sing. ‘Burnin Up’ and ‘Lovebug’ wouldn’t be on there, so take the sticks out of your ass’. Although, yes, twilight is way more mysterious than the JB’s sound, I will admit (I’m a die hard fan for both, trust me) I think that my boys are up to the challenge for it, and to seriously close that opportunity off so fast is dumb.

  46. Jessica says:

    no.

    just…. no.

  47. Isis says:

Putting Jonas brothers on the soundstrack or anywhere for music on N.M is a DEFINATE way to ruin it.
Just goes to show you how little they even KNOW abbout the story ans such of it all by his comment”For a lot of guys, they want super powers,He’s a Vampire but he’s strong and stuff” UM Edward would have given anything NOT to be a vampire.

  48. freakin loon says:

For the love of all that’s holy, please no!

We can’t have these three idiots taint everything good in the world. Wasn’t their performance with Stevie Wonder at the Grammys bad enough?

  49. I feel like if they had a mainstream band like The Jonas Brothers, it would be a sell-out. We need to keep it indie.

The Jonas Brothers just don’t have the right lyrics to feet the deep emotional themes of New Moon, or any of the Twilight Series books.

  50. Isis says:

Plus shouldnt we be trying to drag in more of the MALE audience for N.M? I think they are gona want to see N.M and Eclipse since ther is WAY more action and sorry BUT the Jonas Bros are gona have the guys running OUT of the theatre,NOT helping to bring them in. I agree with the more Hardcore music mentioned above like some Old Metallica and stuff! I mean not all the songs have to be on the soundtrack but it would be nice to have it at least on the backgrounds in some scenes and parts! I agree that the Quliuets look like thy would be into metal type music and i think they should definantly use it!!!!!
