With regards to the events of the Twilight fandom recently, we, the administrators of several websites, have heard your pleas requesting something be done to support Stephenie. So, to answer the question of "what can we do" that we have heard repeatedly over the last twenty-four hours, we propose the following list of suggestions. Be creative with your show of support, but make sure it is a still photograph and not an actual video. We will take the photos and make them into a video that will later be posted on You Tube.
For those of you graphics people who want to do something, we have another idea. We are going to make a virtual quilt. Send a 200 X 200 support graphic to twilightthanks@gmail.com and we will work it into a virtual support quilt. Make sure you put "QUILT" in the subject line.
On Saturday Sept. 13, in honor of Bella’s birthday, wear a twilight themed t-shirt to show your love of the series. If you work or have other obligations that won’t allow you to wear a Twilight shirt, wear all black, white, and red to show your support.
All entries for the video or quilt must be submitted by Wednesday Sept. 3, 2008. You are certainly welcome to do one in each category, but that is by no means a requirement. Also please submit each item in a separate email as it will make our sorting go faster. I’m really getting irritated by all the people who think SM should just get over it. She has published 2 books this year, and done promotional tours, plus input on the movie (which is probably how the draft got released) and she still has a husband and 3 children. She is one person, and she writes because she enjoys it. How can she enjoy it when she’s betrayed by someone she trusted and there’s a group of fans yelling “We hate BD, so you OWE us MS”. She owes us nothing, neither do the people that run the Lexicon. SM has been wonderful and open with her fans, but we do not own her. She is feeling vulnerable and betrayed right now. Showing her support and understanding might not help, but it couldn’t hurt. As an aspiring writer, I can verify that your mood affects your creativity. On days you feel inspired, the words flow. On days you feel down, your head is empty. Give her space and love, and she’ll recover. Patience. And Lex mods, thanks for countering the negative comments. I totally agree.
dsolo, if you want to become a writer, I highly recommend that you don’t use Meyer’s work as an example of good work.

Twihard728 you sound like you are very envious of SM. You must be one of those people that had a huge temper tantrum over Breaking Dawn. Oh Well, take a deep breath and get over it. Most people loved BD, very few hated it. But, that’s the beauty of life. Everybody has their own taste and the right to like what they like. I just wish the people that had the huge temper tantrum over BD would realize that.
If you didn’t like book four well, that’s too bad. I didn’t like book 2 and I got over it. Oh well… There will be more books and some we’ll love and some we will not like so much. The mature fans will deal with it the right way and the not so mature fans, well…. you know… they will act just like you are acting. sorry… so sad that it only takes one book to turn a fan into an enemy. That’s why I think it all has to do with people being envious of SM.

Stephenie deserves the support. How do you think she feels when she reads what so called “fans” have to say about Breaking Dawn and Midnight Sun? She doesn’t need that. She writes for herself. She doesn’t need to keep you in mind when she’s writing, but she does. So show some of the respect she deserves.
Removing the troll. Anyone who expresses "eff..her, hate her, and implies she should be dead is now being deleted.

On a side note, don’t feed the trolls folks, just alert the mods and we’ll get rid of them. On a back trace of IP this troll was ranting on a previous post from over two weeks ago on another topic entirely. Not really sure who reads two week old posts let alone floods them with comments that no one is likely to see …but OOOOOKKKAAAAYYYY….Clearly not playing with a full deck.
If she wrote for herself, she would finish Midnight Sun. She quite clearly only writes for the fame and money. If you are too immature to not see that, that is your own problem. At least I have enough brains to see through her mask and see the monster beneath it.

im huge fan of stephanie cant even say how much but i think she has a right to hold the book i mean i hope she finishes it but anyone who looked for a early copy of midnight sun leeks and such are not true fans i go to her web site and read whats on there any other way you get her writeings isnt how a true fan should act sure the waiting kills me but we have to respect her creative rights and it makes me sad to see how much self controll some people lack and how terrible some people have responded to it she needs time she finished the series that all we should ask from her anything extra we should just feel honor that she care enough for her fans to not take the money run which she hasnt done and pours her heart in to these books not because she wanted to be rich personal im honored she let us in to her world
OMG! How can someone she trusted violeted her trust and now making all her fans suffered with her. I really hope Stephenie will overcome this hard time and frustration and can get back to working on Midnight Sun for the sake of all her loyal fans.
It will be much much lost if Midnight Sun will not goin to be publish bcoz all the fans has been anxiously waiting for it to finally stand along side the Twilight Saga and it will honored Edward’s putting up his side of the story.

I honestly think she will finish it someday. I just can’t see SM not finishing the book. She cares too much for her characters. We have to give her time to get over this. These people, these so called “fans” have hurt SM very much. We need to do this project for her, to let her know that we care about her and that we stand behind her 100%. She needs to take time off, spend time with her family and I think once her head and heart are centered again, she’ll get back to it. I just can’t see SM not forgiving the people that did this, she’s too nice. Now, if it were me… I would burn the 12 chapters and say @#$%^&!!!! so its a good thing its not me…

Before I read about the leak of Midnight Sun, I heard the backlash from BD hurt Stephenie. We have a website with about 1000 names(in 5 days time) in support of Stephenie!! All the names are listed so I hope Stephenie will read it and be uplifted and inspired again and she will know how much we LOVE her. If we blow this out of the water maybe she will notice. I hate to bother you as I am sure you receive waaaaaaay, too many emails already. But after reading about the latest development with Midnight Sun- I HAD to write this! I’m not sure you’ll even read this or that you might even possibly think, but I have to try…
I am sooooo, very heartbroken by the fact that the unfinished draft was leaked, and I can imagine your heartache at this too. But after reading it, I am even more saddened because you are giving up work on the book at this time. Please understand that we (us diehard fans) are so sorry and angry too. And express also that reading the first 12 chapters from Edwards’s perspective is just as captivating and addictive- as from Bella’s point of view! With that said- this only leaves us wanting MORE!
I know you’re in no place right now to continue writing MS, but try not to punish us loving fans for too long. We know how much you love Edward and Bella, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that you- like Bella- do not hold grudges long. It truly is an invasion what happened, but it can’t be undone; and now we loyal fans must suffer along side the talented creator of our favorite characters.

I really like the mod response to Mishib above, you guys said it exactly the way I want to say it.
I’ve kind of come to the conclusion that I’m actually glad that Stephenie’s made the decision to put the book on hold if that’s how she feels and that’s what she wants to do. I’d rather she tell the story how she wants to and she obviously feels she can’t do it in her current state of mind. I can’t see it being a good thing for her to force herself on. We wouldn’t end up with the Midnight Sun that should have been.
I also want to say that it kind of annoys me when people say she’s whinging. People wanted her to comment and so she commented and did so honestly and openly, letting her fans know exactly what she’s thinking and feeling and explaining exactly what was going on. I think this shows that she has a great respect for her fans. I think that it’s actually a lot of the so called fans that are whinging and acting immaturely.
I think she’s earned a break considering the huge couple of years she’s had. I hope she can now spend some stress-free and well-deserved time with her family and hopefully come back to writing after having refound her passion and love for it.
I desperately hope I have a copy of Midnight Sun on my shelf one day but I hope that it’s the copy Stephenie Meyer wanted to write and if that takes a long time then so be it.
Back on topic: I’m glad that there’s a campaign for supporting Stephenie going on. I don’t know how I’d hold up after having so much hate directed at me so I’m glad she’ll be getting some love directed at her too.

I am a 33 year old mother of two boys who fell in love with the Twilight Series this summer. I have read all four books more thatn once not wanting the story to end. I am truly sorry that Stephenie’s trust was broken in such a way to steal her creative energy. I for one will not read a partial rendering of “Midnight Sun” out of respect for her as an author. I hope one day she may choose to finish it and then I will read it the way she intended. I hope that all fans will do the same.
actully reading it FROM HER site isnt bad tho it does make the waiting to see if she will continue harder cause the portion she put up was fantastic and she did put it up there for her fans to enjoy and i enjoyed it alot which makes me sadder that this is what we might get i alway hoped she would do first 3 from edward perspective lol we will just have to see

Moreover, I have enjoyed reading even more Edward’s perspective, and would be greatly disheartened if you let a few selfish idiots ruin the the closure of Edward’s completed perspective for the rest of us! Please continue to create this perspective and give us loyal mom’s something to look forward to (what am I going to read on maternity leave?!).

I am sorry to hear about “Midnight Sun”. I can’t imagaine how incredibly violating it must feel to have your work taken from you. It is one thing if a thief breaks into your home and takes replaceable property such as T.V.s and stereos, it is quite another to steal someone’s creative work; it just seems so much more personal.
I think it was quite generous of Stephenie to post the rough draft. 264 pages must represent a lot of time she spent working and sacrificing time with her family. I look forward to other work she may produce in the future and hope one day she is healed enough to re-visit the “Midnight Sun” project.

If you don’t like Stephenie anymore, that’s your opinion, but please post it somewhere else where it won’t affect the outcome of our efforts. Those people who are writing petitions against Stephanie Meyer postponing Midnight Sun, I understand you love her talent, but this is her book. She is just having an emotional breakout, I would too if someone leaked the few chapters of Midnight Sun on the internet. That is a total lack of privacy. Stephanie Meyer, let me tell you, I am with you for every decision you make. The only decision I may be upset if you take is if you quit writing jsut because of the Nidnight Sun leak, that would hurt me very much. Well, that’s all.

This is Bella and Edward’s story. I don’t think that Edward would want ANYTHING to get in the way of people knowing his side of things. Show your readers the courage that we all know you possess, it is never easy to put yourself out there the way that you have.
I stood in line for over 4 hours to get an autograph at the LA event. Never before have I been more impressed with an author’s commitment and dedication to her fan base. You looked each person in the eye and thanked them for coming and for reading your books. Don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dreams, you deserve better.

I’m so sorry that you were violated and your trust broken when Midnight Sun was posted. I can only imagine how difficult that was and probably still is for you. I know you may not be ready to work on it for a while but…
Consider how much more unfair it would be for one, or a few people’s bad choices to affect so many more people negatively by leaving Edward’s story incomplete. I think maybe something in you would be incomplete as well, if Edward doesn’t get a chance to finish his story.
Stephanie, the first chapters of Midnight Sun are the best writing you have ever done, including all the other Twilight books, and The Host. It is YOURS, and nothing that anyone has done can change that. No one can tell Edward’s story but you.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of it.

What a drama queen! LOL. How do we know she didn’t leak it herself? Shes probably already done with the last novel and is just trying to create “buzz” for the upcoming movie… Controversy is good for sales… After which she will come up with some babble about completing it for her “fans” and how everyone shouldn’t “suffer” and then dramatically “reveal” that she has “finished” the novel. Gimme a “*ucking” break… I haven’t read any of the books and don’t intend to – so I could really care less… I just hate the media, et al, “creating” news instead of just reporting it like they should be doing…
