Novel Novice has a Forks High School yearbook project going.  Check it out here. Write something to your favorite character.

The Movie Fanatic talks about the sexual appeal of the Twilight books and how that translates at the box office.

What is the next big thing? The Daily Sundial explores the idea that perhaps media/society is too quick to latch on to the idea of "The Next…" The article is now in the archives, the August 26th edition. Thanks to Chris for the heads-up

The Movie Fanatic doesn’t sound 2 friendly 2 me. *mutters to self* sexual appeal…. pfft yea right…

  3. Esme echo says:

I thought it was a very balanced and thoughtful article! It’s nice to read a piece that discusses both Rowling and Meyer that doesn’t try to force a competition between the two. I like both authors; however, Stephenie wrote the only book I’ve ever obsessed over!

I agree with Esme echo, I don’t think I’ve ever been this mentally and emotionally invested in a book or series. The Twilight Saga sucks you in and I don’t know about everyone else, but I actually feel different when I’ve been reading it.

  7. Lise says:

Television Without Pity has Twilight on its list of fall movie to watch; Twilight is recommended with the words “This thing is going to be massive”, and it has a picture of Kristen and Robert looking very Bella-and-Edward-Like. Love that crooked smile!

I really liked the Daily Sundial article. It was very refreshing to read something that didn’t force competition between the two, just like Esme echo said. And the yearbook signing project sounds really cool :) !

When you read the book…it’s like ‘Edward Cullen was so beautiful I creamed myself.’ He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn’t do that. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin, so he’s obviously got some issues there.

Hmmm, Did Rob really say that! Ewwww!

  13. i love edward cullen says:

Esme echo, i totally agree with you. But i am such a nerd that before I started reading Twilight I did ALMOST totally obess over HP. I have never been THIS emotionally involved (or mentally,Brianne, you stole the words out of my mouth, lol) I mean how could you not be with super gorgeous Edward in it.

pinky – I totally disagree with you, sorry.

I’ve NEVER been happier with Rob’s casting. The guy sees through Edward. Yay.

Rob hates the character but apparently loves the part, if you get what I mean. excellent. this will be fantastic.

by the way….cos no onwe seems to have corrected this…. (i’ll put in capitals…)
TWILIGHT COMES OUT IN AUSTRALIA ON DECEMBER 11TH (my b’day :D )…..NOT THE 12TH!!!!
    got it?

  17. Leticia says:

    I agree with Esme echo.

I have to admit I’m a little bit worried over Rob’s overview of Edward. I’m sure Edward does hate himself in many ways, we know that. But from the things that I’ve seen and read about the Twilight movie, I feel like the interpretation of Edward’s character is a little too extreme from my point of view. Maybe I just imagine Edward being more “human” than he really is. It’s a metter of how you interprete the book. I just hope that Rob didn’t make Edward look like a complete manic-depressive, because we can often see in the books that this isn’t the case.

We’ll see. I’ll have to try and see the film as being something separate, only BASED on the book – not the book turned into a film. And that is going to be VERY hard, because I always try with HArry Potter, but it never worked. lol

(Also, I didn’t really like the 108-year-old virgin declaration.)

I thought him saying that was totally hilarious. I agree with Fake_Plastic201.
Rob is a guy, so reading the book from the perspective of a girl does have to get aggrivating. Bella thinks Edward is totally flawless. She doesn’t see any of his flaws because she is so obsessed with him. Love is blinding.

    fake_plastic201….

I wasnt talking about his casting..I think they picked a great actor to portray Edward. I am talking about his comment! LOL! :)

  20. fake_plastic201 says:

pinky – lol, I know =) I really wasn’t trying to say it weird.

I just like rob more because of his comment, in a twisted way.

    Sorry…

  23. Hey, I just finished reading Twilight and I’m reading New Moon. It is sad @ the begining. I’m @ the chapter called intruder. Ya I havent started reading it wet. I LUV Twilight… I think Edward Cullen is HOT! The thing is, is that Rob doesen’t really look like Edward in the book. What does he look like??? I know he has gold eyes and auburn hair… but I cant really picture him. But then I saw some pictures- and he sorta looks like what he was described! OMG, I CANT BELIEVE SHE CANCELLED THE SEQUEL ON EDWARDS PIONT OF VIEW!!! NO!

  24. Ya I agree with Brianne. Ever since i’ve been reading it, I’ve thought about the book 24/7! And it totally sucks me in! I’m suprised im not reading it now. Well Bi Im gonna read it!!!

    L8R!!
