MTV has an article talking about Twilight and Harry Potter bands. For our part, we still don’t know what all the fuss is about. It’s not a competition. You can like both, either, or neither.
When MTV probably does a blog post later, we’ll edit this entry.
Larry Carrol is back (Oh Larry how we have missed you! Larry took a break to be with his wife and new baby. Congrats on being a new dad!) and has an interview with Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper in the Twilight movie.

I love Jasper!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And seriously from 14-16 years old?? Come on!!! The other day I went over to the Walden Books library to buy the Twilight calendar. I went over to pay for it and when the lady, who looked like she was probably on her late fifties, at the cashier saw it she said, ”Oh my god! You like Twilight, too?” When I responded that I loved it, she said, ”I know I’m in love with it, too. Though I’ve only read the first one, I I really love it. I can’t wait to read the others, but my son has read all of them, though,” I looked over at her son and realized he was probably in his thirties. I left the store thinking how Twilight really brings different generations together. It’s not just for teenagers. Anyway, I loved the interview with Jackson, I think he’s the perfect Jasper!!!!!
Oh, and I forgot. Why do people keep comparing Twilight to Harry Potter?? They are very different and they are both awsome. Seriously, they are two completely different things.
I would have to agree that it is silly that they keep comparing the two series. It seems to me that that it must be slow as far as news goes. And I find the quote in #19 very funny bc I know very few 15/16 year olds that are into Hanna Montana (nothing is wrong if they are). The target age group is 11-14 year olds. If you are going to insult by comparison at least get the facts right! I have found that people who feel the need to do such things are not sure enough in themselves/beliefs to not be bothered by other who do not see things their way. I love both and am ok with it.

sorry about the double post my computer went crazy!
Ugh, I’m annoyed to death with the whole ridiculous comparing thing. I’m through with it. Not going to comment on that anymore. Nope. Buh-bye now.
CKitsune and angela!:
The Meg Cabot comments were taken from a copy of her blog that was posted in an interview from the news on August 15 posted here, titled “In The Press” (I believe it’s the first interview, Kim from Cinematic or something, talks about the antifeminist backlash of the Twilight series). I copied it below for you to see:
The Twilight series grew in popularity, mostly off the radar of the feminist set, until it got so popular that the feminists started to take notice — and offense. I first became aware of this anti-feminist backlash when Meg Cabot, author of The Princess Diaries (among other girly books) responded on her blog to readers writing her to ask what she thought of the series, thusly: ” I didn’t take my husband’s last NAME when we got married. Do you honestly think I’d like a story about a girl considering changing SPECIES for a guy? No offense to any of you, but as a feminist, I just can’t go there… ”
Oh, and this book they “did” together is not what I’d calling “doing together” – short story anthology concepts, in this case “prom nights from hell,” are usually either triggered by a publisher/editor, or another really famous author that has an idea and wants other authors they like to see what they can write with their idea. One I have organized by Mary Higgins Clark was started by contacting several authors, some vets, some new, and they were given the task of writing a suspense short story that had to mention somewhere in the story a steak dinner, fog, a candlestick, and something else, I forget. So it’s not like these authors actually get together and chat and write. They might not even know each other personally; it’s done very remotely. That’s probably what “Prom Nights from Hell” was. And by what Cabot said, that doesn’t strike me as a friendly comment.
Preist: and do you Aluna, take Jackson to be your husband…
Aluna: YES!
I LOVE JACKSON RATHBONE!!!!!!!! HE IS THE SEXIEST OF ALL THE CAST
Well blonde peter facinelli comes in second… and Robert comes in third… and then Kellan is 4th… I do have a thing for asians though… kid playing Eric is adorable… I’m not a fan of the whole Taylor lautner… could have picked a hotter guy… but he’ll do… and then theres Solomon… *looses mind a bit then recovers* He is definately my number 5… he is so HOT!!!!!
I love Cabot.. but after that comment she seems like a beach (if you get what i mean by beach) Just cause Bella wanted to change species for Edward doesn’t mean she’s less of a feminist… There were circustances that kind of required her to change species… I think Cabot should reread the series and understand that…
I also think that Cabot is just jealous of Stephenie… since Cabots books are not as wildly popular as Stephenies are…
One more on the subject… It took Cabot a long time to become a house hold name… no one really knew who she was till disney did the Princess diaries…
Stephenie basically took off over night…
i think what cabot said is halarious! i mean who WOULDNT change species for edward…lol..even if you were a feminist! lol. its just silly.
and on the awesome jackson….i LOVE him..lol i am glad they let him have curly hair though…straight wasnt a good look.
i think that casting people did the most fantastical job ever! on everyone…i think the cast is perfect….except kristen…she is just ok
Im actually really satisfied by all the cast. cuz they all basically fit the character looks and everything. even kristen, i mean she has brown hair and she looks like a simple person-like bella. and i luv kellen, rob and jackson!!!!!!
Yeah, I don’t know. I’m a bit dissapointed with Kristen as Bella. Kristen allways look pissed, Bella doesn’t. Bella’s a bit shy, Kristen doesn’t show that. So I agree to Deven.
The fascination with comparing HP and Twilight is really annoying. I don’t get it. I am glad to see more about Vrock, though. I like Wrock and Vrock. No competition. ;o)
I love jackson as jasper! he’s so cute! and i’m so happy they didn’t straighten his hair, it looks better curly
that was good but i want EMETT OR BELLA(KELLAN-KRISTEN)
and twilight is so much better. i just cant believe bella’s story is over.. i want more more edward and bella cutee moments.
oh i know it’s not necessary anymore but still go TEAM EDWARD<3
I love Harry Potter and Twilight but the stupid comment from that one guy (sorry i don’t remeber his name) makes me not like it.
Since when is Harry Potter inritching??? tell me something it really teaches us other then ‘magic’
I love Jasper!!!!!
JACKSON!!!!! THATS ALL THAT NEED BE SAID!!!!!!!
hey how can i discuss breking dawn w/ u all?
hey how can i discuss breaking dawn w/ u all?
