A group of Twilight fans are testing the waters on the interest fans fan have in a Twilight convention in 2009. They are still very much in the early stages and are asking for your input on a number of levels. Their site can be found here.

I think Stephanie Meyers is sooo talented and have read the twilight series and recomend it to EVERYONE I know…I cant wait to see what will come next! A convetion loads of fans in the same room all to support Mrs Meyers it would be crazy but also sooo much fun I would go if it was close to where I live and easy access! I live in England though so that might be hard unless your on tour!! I love her work and one day i hope to be as good at writing as she is I dream of becoming a famous Author nothing will stop me from getting my dream! Way to go Steph! I hope this helps you! xx

Sounds like a blast! If there is to be one…I think it should be centrally located…not on either coast. If it is a tour, then multiple sites give us all several options!

I’d suggest Indianapolis, it’s a clean, safe city with plenty to do near the Convention center, and it’s not too big or too small (I went to Star Wars Celebration 3 there, it was great).
From my con experience in LA, I hate the place. Everything’s over-priced, there’s one decent hotel in walking-distance, there’s very very very few places open to eat at 8pm on a Friday night in the area. (Really, when I was there for Star Wars Celebration IV, my roommate and I walked around for two hours to find someplace, even McDonanld’s was closed) Plus I don’t think Twicon 1 could fill that convention center. :-\

I have read all 4 books and my co-workers will see me with books (since I read them several times)and I got a few of them into the books as well in to a point we are going to the see the movie as a group,,,,<3

If the location was more centralized then it sounds like a great idea. Most of all the really fun, large parties are in LA, CH, NY etc. It kind of leaves a lot of the fans on the other side of the country out. So if it is less than a 5 hour drive from Kentucky I’m in. Gas prices will kill you if you do not centralize your convention. Trust me I work for our local convention and I can tell you that members from more than five hours away sat it out this time around. Someone suggested Indianapolis. Truly I too went to Celebration there, it was a blast! Nice set up too. They hold Gencon Indy as well. Big place though.

Oh! This is exciting! I hope that they have it somewhere in the south. Haha. But it seems likely to be in New York or Chicago. Either way I can’t wait. I just hope it doesn’t conflict with the times of any of the Harry Potter conventions. I hope the volunteers and people putting htis together keep that in mind.
