"Everyone always knew that Bella would be with Edward, what we’re saying, (well Samantha’s saying it, I just agree totally), is that *everything inbetween was just poorly written*."

exactly!

Sorry, I also had to add that the excuse that "everything was too perfect" is what makes this a bad book is ridiculous. The reasoning "life isn't always perfect" is easily refuted with "life doesn't always SUCK". Sometimes things do work out perfectly. Sometimes in life you build yourself up, prepare yourself for the worst, wait for the bang, and then things work out. I've had those moments. I'm still having those moments. Sorry, I had to add that lexicon:)

I don't really think she was trying to frighten you into abstinence....not unless you plan to have a vampire/human baby....
At any rate, no matter how she wrote the book, one side was going to be offended. What if she wasn't trying to scare you into abstinence? What if she wrote just the opposite and did everything out of "traditional" order?(not that I believe one is write or wrong)You know people would have been ticked. SM had a tough decision to make but she made an informed decision on how she thought the characters would progress. After all, who knows her characters better than herself?

I agree with Samantha here, and I completely understand what she's trying to say. CKitsune, to be honest, I dont understand YOUR post.
Everyone always knew that Bella would be with Edward, what we're saying, (well Samantha's saying it, I just agree totally), is that everything inbetween was just poorly written.
To me, it kind of seems like SM is trying to scare readers into thinking that it's horrible to have sex before marrige. (and if you don't agree with me, good for you, its just what I think.) The way that she barely delved into the sex scenes, but spent a good chunk of the book telling us, with horrifying descriptions, what a nightmare her pregnancy was, seemed to try to frighten us into abstinence. (Not that I'm having sex, which I'm not, but I still believe that people should have a choice and not be judged by it.) DISCLAIMER: These are my thoughts and opinions, and if you disagree, neat. I'm not speaking for ANYONE except for myself.

Right-on, Terri! HA! Edward playing the piano for Bella to welcome her home positively gave me goose bumps. Darn my husband and his lack of musical abilities :)

"you said that you didn’t like the book just because it didn’t end the way YOU planned…but that’s exactly what you DID say… or implied to say… ._."

What?
I said everything I wanted to happen in BD, happened. Apart from Bella and Edward getting married, and Bella becoming a vampire, I had absolutely no ideas about what would happen in BD at all and never once have I said anything different. Did I missunderstand your post? All the dids and didn'ts are confusing me.

Devon- You are correct about the romance. I could not understand how anyone could not see it. It is much deeper and more tender and subtle than in previous books. It's not 5 pages it's one sentence. It is in a look or touch of the cheek or in playing the piano to welcome her home. It's also not making it to the bed in the cottage. The first words out of her mouth when she wakes up are "I love you" and Edward's response is "As I love you." That did it for me.

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here, so correct me if I MAY be wrong: the fans that think there "wasn't enough Edward/Bella romance" in BD are not married.

Point 1: Remember in Twilight, when Edward mentioned lust and love keeping the same company. Yeah, that's all BD.

Point 2: They're newlyweds. Horny newlyweds. For Pete's sake, I've been married 2 years now, and "the honeymoon" hasn't worn off yet, so I certainly relate to how Bella is feeling. Fans are not going to understand this until they've been in this situation, either a newbie to the married state, or a vet. Just because there isn't anymore face and collarbone-stroking and 5 pages of how much and how deeply they love each other, and why they have to be careful, doesn't mean that "there wasn't any romance." This is a natural progression of a relationship - marriage and glorious sex ARE AWESOME!!!! LOL. I love being married. Obviously, Bella and Edward are as well. Be happy for them, and the maturation of their feelings, and now finally being able to physically demonstrate that love (and have a product of it, for that matter, with Renesmee).

That's my 2 cents on that matter :)

I loved Breaking Dawn - the fact that it threw me some curve balls.

I expected SM to surprise her readers and somehow bring Jacob/Edwdard together. Did not expect Renesmee or Jacob imprinting on her. I thought that imprinting on a newborn was CREEPY. Creepiness factor went down as more explanation was given on imprinting.

There are typos, there are sentences that are missing a word, grammar errors.

I would have liked for there to have been a big showdown/fight with the Volturi, the Cullens/Werevolves/Allies winning and creating a new era..a new Volturi. I wasn't disappointed with the Volturi stare down because I had already been disappointed in Eclipse with the newborn battle and expected the Volturi showdown to go without much event.

I didn't like the way Bella's change was handled with Charlie. He was the one I expected to be the one to die for some reason. And maybe the reason why all of a sudden we have a story in the shadows between Billy/Charlie/Sue??

As far as the characters being different. They definitely were. But for me, that was just part of circumstances, life events, learning.

As far as someone central dying. For me, someone did die - Bella. Reading about Bella's birth, she was no longer Bella to me. Being torn, ripped to shreds, her heart stopping. I lost the Bella we knew at that moment. We get her back but not the same. For Edward, Bella is everything and his mood was fit as one can't be without the other - I saw him dying with her. Again, we get him back.

Rosalie, wanted to bash her head in!! But it wasn't anything less than I would have expected from her - when presented with what she covets most. We saw her characteristics multiplied by 1000.

Emmett, there are reviews that say he changed and all of a sudden started making sexual jokes. He has always been the Joker...and now Bella was part of the family, and the intimacy that comes with being part of a family.

I think if everyone was happy, loved the book, it would make for a BORING place. I like hearing others' views, opinions. Makes you think and view things in a different light. And just because someone didn't like it, doesn't take away from being a fan just as much as loving the book adding more to being a fan. My least favorite book was New Moon. Does that make me less of a fan even though I liked Breaking Dawn? I don't think so...same goes for those who didn't like Breaking Dawn.
