"I had a terrible morning and that night, I was scheduled to shoot the, always pivotal, victim-crying scene. I was not in the mood to audition that day, but of course I’m glad I did."

its so sweet how he first auditioned for edward – but now he says he’s glad he didnt get it because he’d be afraid of all the “he’s not hot enough”. and this just makes me like robert (pattinson) even better because he was so brave to stand through all of that. but i’m glad that mike got the part of “mike” – he fits the role really well. and if michael welch wants to, he can look cute and baby-faced like mike newton.

hahaha, I love him. He is so funny. They mentioned Joan of Arcadia, I so wish that that show had gone on, I loved it. I remember him in it, he was so great and geeky.
this is kind of unrelated but, I wonder if they will release the twilight movie sound-track earlier than the movie?! I really hope they do. they do that alot in itunes, but I guess its all up to summit. Ha Ha.
i just love michael welch. he’s so adorable, and so down to earth. I feel like I could meet him and have a hilarious conversation with him. i really want to now…hahaha

Not sure where I read it ( I think it was a The Host Q&A) but Steph said that she didn’t have an exact date, but Alice probably bought Bella’s wedding dress before New Moon. I think if you poke around a bit on the Lex, you’ll be able to find exact answer. Hope that helps.

This kid is growing on me. I didn’t think much of him, but after reading this interview I have to admit I have a new found respect in Mike Welch. He comes across as an intelligent and well spoken young man.

Yes, technically it is Jasper Whitlock just like Edward’s is Edward Masen.
Mike is such a doll. He looks exactly like Mike Newton. He is really cute. I don’t know how Bella could have blown him off!
I absolutely LOVED his portrayl of Jack O’Neill in SG-1, he was so much like the character it was spooky!!
