I think there will be a mix of both. Because of her high sensibility to the smell of blood now, I think it’ll increase greatly as a special ability–just like Edward has the fastest speed she might get the best…smell?
BUT, I think that because she hates the smell of blood, that she will also be repulsed by it, and not want it. Sure, its natural instinct to crave it but if she hated the smell so much as a human imagine the hate if you can smell it alot more as a vampire.

And for her ‘special talents’, I either think her dreams will give her an ability OR because only certain vampire talents work on her as a human..that none at ALL will work on her as a vampire. She will be completely immune–even by Alice and Jasper.

Sarah, thanks for clearing that up.

It never seemed likely to me that that would have much to do with her vampower (I MADE THAT WORD UP isn’t it lovely?), since, well, how can it? Really, she’d just have a hightened sense of smell maybe, but that isn’t impressive. And this is Bella. Either something unusual or impressive or no power at all. (And I could live with no power at all, honestly, it seems just as natural.)

But really, it’s got to have something to do with her mind if anything at all.

Hay! Stephenie said in an interview with a bookseller company (I forget which one) that she hadn’t even thought of the sensitivity to blood that Bella has. She talked about how when/if she turns, Bella will be like any normal vampire and that she hadn’t meant for people to wonder about that. x3

Maybe her ability will be that she can control other vampires abilities. Then again it could have something to do with her being a trouble magnet or the way she’s always worries about others in danger before herself.

Yay, only four days left! Does anyone know if the Special Edition will be available in Ireland or the UK?
Not sure if Bella’s aversion to the smell of blood will have anything to do with her talent, it seems a bit too convenient (as well as obvious – and we all know that Stephenie likes to surprise us!) I do think that Bella will have a special power, but like a lot of other people here I think that will be more to do with her mind and the fact that she seems to have very strong mental defences. Guess we won’t know until August 2nd!
(too far wary, oh FAR too far away…)

That is exactly what I thought when the Volturi were talking about her potential talent!
I thought immediately that it would be something to do with her being sensitive to blood. I think she might be able to resist blood so much better than most because she is so repulsed by it as a human.
