We know everyone is excited and desperate for the movie Twilight to premier in a timely manner in their respective countries. I have personally spoken with Summit Entertainment’s international department and they know that you want the film’s international release to happen sooner rather then later. At this moment in time every date you read is tentative. The international release date for Twilight the movie is early January. A simultaneous December 12th release has not been ruled out yet. It is still too early to have firm dates set. Bearing all that in mind, the Twilight Lexicon has no control over when and where the film will be released. We understand your excitement and anticipation, but there is little to nothing we can do about moving up the time frame when an official date is finally set. We ask your patience and understanding as we ask you not to continue to fill our email box with cries of outrage over rumored release dates. We love hearing from you, we just can’t do anything about when and where the movie will premier. EDITED: Also please note that Internet petitions are not going to change this situation in the slightest. In fact Internet petitions are routinely thrown out by any organization, because it is so easy to fake multiple signatures.
And last but certainly not least…who would have ever guessed just over 2 years ago, that a website that started with just an idea would turn into the site it is today! This Memorial Day weekend our messageboard membership reached a record 20,000 registered members. We are so happy to have you all here with us daily sharing in our mutual love of the Twilight Series. I know, I cant wait till the movie. This last week, I went to the midnight premiere of Indiana Jones and I saw the Twilight teaser trailer. I freaked out! I starded screaming during the begining “Summit Entertainment” opening….And the whole theatre laughed at me. It was out of my control though.

It sucks about the movie possibly being released so late internationally and I may have somewhat of a solution. tvshack.net is a website that features movies the same day that they are released in the states. If you don’t mind watching something on the computer or dealing with subtitles, then at least you could see the movie when it comes out in the states. All of the movies are in english, but are subtitled in some other language and they are streamed from the site, so there is no downloading.
Just thought I would voice a possible solution because I know how unfair it is for those overseas who have to wait longer than those of us who live in the states.

On other subject, yeah the different release date is not quite pleasent for all of us international fans. I mean, I wouldn’t mind to wait one more month if EVERYONE was going to wait. But I have to admit the worst thing is the jealousy(sp?). Just knowing so many people have already seen it and are actually able to discuss every single detail while I’ll still be ignorant and possibly insane for trying to resist looking for spoilers. But I do respect it and understand they can’t do everything we want.
Oh well. I would just go insane one way or another, anyway…
By the way, forgot to add: still crossing fingers for a different date (earlier, for the love of God!). Nothing’s official yet, so I’m still hoping…

No, I don’t want an earlier date! The date it’s set to release right now, Dec 12, is THREE DAYS before my birthday! And four days before one of my friend’s, and five before anthor’s and six before another’s birthday. And YES we all love Twilight.

And I found a flaw in that interview the Sun did. We don’t really know yet how many pages Breaking Dawn has yet because they’re still editing it. They said it has 498 pages but that’s how many Twilight has and Stephenie said when she was writing it that she was up to 800 pages when she got done.

in my opinion they SHOULN’T RUSH THE PRODUCTION OF TWILIGHT I’D RATHER WAIT THE REST OF THE YEAR AND HAVE IT NICE AND COMPLETED , THAN HAVE IT RUSHED AND GET BAD REVIEWS….they have to remember how big twilight is… people can wait… its dangerous to have this movie out earlier and be a let down to all twilighters of the world… just saying… lol im not sure if my voice would be heard its just were all so excited i don’t want twilight to be a disappointment … not that im judging im saying this in spite of people of twilight who is deeply sunk into it

Yeah, I’m one of the people who emailed. I understand that the Lex can’t do anything about the release date, we were never asking for that one. At least, not me. What we were kinda getting at was maybe a link to the petition, but that’s okay.
If they show it in January, then that’s when I’ll watch it.
It’s just a nice feeling to be able to work together with a lot of people and be a part of something big that involves something you love, I guess haha
