MTV has come through with another Twilight Tuesday for us to read and ponder. This one is about the potential for sequels. We need to stress that as of today there is no contract for any of the sequels to be filmed. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything official on that front. A quote from the article states:
It’s been discussed,” producer Greg Mooradian revealed to MTV News recently. “I can’t tell you we’re at that place yet, but it’s definitely been discussed.”
The question at the end that Larry asks us to respond to is:
Would you like to see the sequels filmed at the same time, or would you rather have everyone take a few years off to catch their breath in-between movies?

I like the idea of shooting simultaneously. It would really help with the illusion of vampires not aging. Wow, I hope that we can pull out record numbers to watch twilight. I’m going as many times as I can possibly go the weekend it comes out!
i dont know if i would like to see the sequels filmed at the same time.. i mean i would like it but is going to be alot of work for the actors and crew.. OMG

Well, I was going to saw that Twilight Tuesdays, MTV, and Larry totally make my week. ^^
And that I’d like sequels (of course). And that I’d like them filmed together… because a) the actors won’t waste their time like, on multiple projects that take time… (poor Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, stuck on Harry Potter for nearly 10 years…), b) we wouldn’t have to wait in between movies!! Less suspense and waiting. Even though releases are fun, who wants to wait?? c) the actors won’t get older. Even though they won’t change that much, Edward and Bella and everyone in Twilight changes even less, and so to keep it accurate, they’d have to stay around the same age…

I totally think that it would be great to film them simultaneously to keep the flow of the characters plus it would not tie the actors down for so many years to one franchise. On the downside – goodness the work! But truly if they punch them all out then they can just enjoy the success even more quickly

okayy so i realllyy dont get everyone who says film simultaneusly… how are they supposed to get into the feel of each movie? New Moon and Eclipse are so different..

Given the time frame that the two books, ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse,’ cover it makes sense to film back to back, while giving a year or so between releases. Since we don’t know yet how ‘Breaking Dawn’ is going to play out, it may still be a good idea to film that one at the same time too.
That is of course *if* sequels are authorized.

New Moon is going to be HARD to make into a movie. She takes the Cullens out for 3/4 of the book.

They totally should make the next two or three movies back to back. I mean, Rob just turned 22 and his supposed to be 17! and Kisten and them lot too. But I bet it’ll be harder for them. Being away from family for all that time! Can’t wait for New Moon to come out!
Filming sequels simultaneously is all the rage these days… they have some time before Rob ages visibly but the clock is ticking!
One thing to consider is that Edward and the Cullens have a rather reduced role in “New Moon”. The simultaneous filming would be hardest on Kristen Stewart and to a lesser extent Taylor Lautner.

Melissa to answer your question, even if they film the two movies at the same time the movies will still be released as two separate movies. We will still have both New Moon and Eclipse. They would just film be filming scenes from both movies over the same time period so that the actors don’t age and they don’t have to take down sets, etc.

I don’t think they’re going to be made as one, or even released at the same time. They’re just going to be FILMED at the same time, so that our vampires don’t get older. At least that’s what I got from the article.

i wouldnt mind if they combined new moon and elipse into one movie. i kind of wonder if new moon would be interesting as a movie by itself, and they could always shoot breaking dawn as the third movie, whatever it may be.
