oh that G4 rpatz interview is so good! normally rpatz is a kind of lost one, but he gives really coherent answers in this! i love it – especially when he talks about wanting to kill bella ‘everyday, all the time’.. and how they’re both really weird characters in the way the perceive things!
G4 interview-I love how Rob has so much understanding of this book, like he’s really read deeply into it adn thought about the characters and the storyline – I see a budding hardcore Twilighter! All of these little teasing bits of info make me unbelievably anxious for the movie!! December so can’t come fast enough!

really? cause i thought his interview was week. idk. he seems like an _ about it all. he plays a dazzaling edward, but rpatz is kinda a jerk. =/ idk. and he was like, i never read the book, so i’m just kinda making his character up. uhhhm, no? you can’t just make up edward [unless your name happens to be stephenie meyer, just saying]. idk. he is an amazing edward, but his real life personality, i’m not so hot for.

Wow, this interview was amazing. His answers were coherent this time. even though he didn’t read the books before he got booked, he has made a really strong effort to get to know who edward is. And he has already read the other 2 books and Midnight Sun. That’s alot of reading for somebody who is constantly working on trying to learn his script for the movie. Regardless of him not picking up the books right away, he sure did his homework for this role. I’m positive he won’t disappoint.
Great interview with Robert!! I love the guy in the back round, eating a sandwich and then a piece of pizza. Keepin it real on the Twilight set, even though there’s a vampire twenty feet away.

Hey guys I believe he is saying he didn’t read the book before he got the part of Edward. He has read at least Midnight Sun he has said so a lot of times. I love how silly his is. You can tell he really wants to laugh all the time. Plus he is a guy he wants to do action stuff. Rob, just wait until you get to kill victoria in Eclipse. If they make it. I hope. I hope I have always loved Rob for the part. I feel bad that he thinks everything was 100% against him in the beginning.

Clarification. Robert has an extremely dry british sense of humor. If you aren’t used to the subtly of it, you can miss that he is kidding. Seriously, he has read the books, All of them. He is incredibly serious about this role. Enough with the bashing.
I really enjoyed this interview. As for him reading the books, I believe in another interview he states he did not read them before the audition but has since read Twilight & also Midnight Sun. I think his understanding of Edward even before reading it was astounding. It is his part & seems it was meant to be.
My favorite part of this interview though was when he talks about Edward finding “one thing that is his… and he can’t keep it safe”. I see that with Edward – he was alone in some ways for so long just passing through immortality with really only his family that caused him to grasp anything then he finds Bella. That statement by Robert is a very in depth look. I cannot wait for the movie!

I love how Rob and Kristen want to make their performances more serious and add depth. It wil make it so much more than a typical teen flick! I’m so excited!

Loved it! That’s exactly how he is in person. He’s very calm and not very verbal. Not like he needs to do alot of talking to impress anyone anyways. You can just look at him and right away you’ll be taken haha
I love this guy. xD I couldn’t stop staring at his eyes though. For like two minutes I was like: WOAH. THE CONTACTS XD
More and more I can only picture him as Edward and no other actor. Honestly..I can’t think of any other actor that has been portraying Edward so well. : D

I agree, great interview! Even if he didn’t read Twilight before getting the part, he understood Edwards perspective and once reading that & Midnight Sun, figured out he was playing the role right.

Wow, he really gave you a chance to get into his head during this intervirew. I can’t believe that he hadn’t read the books when he auditioned!! ( How could you not have read the books?!) Although I must say that I was a bit worried when I found out that he was going to play Edward. That’s a pretty important, mysterious character who’s shoes are hard to fill. But he gave me confidence in the movie from the first time he was interviewed. I really, really hope that they do a good job on this movie!! Because no one loves Twilight ( and Edward) more than me. Robert Pattinson is soooooooooooooo deep!!! He seems so into the books (now that he’s read them) and he shows BEYOND understanding of them.

that was a really really great interview, go rob! i just feel really bad if he thinks that the twilight girls think hes not good for the part..he probably got a few angry letters saying hes not dreamy enough…thats a sin! i really hope enough people told him hes perfect…i want my edward to have some encouragement!

ok pretty much the whole cast hadnt read twilight before they were cast..so what?…..the fact that he read all the books after he was cast and midnight sun shows how much he is commited to the part and I have been 100 percent for him since I found out he was cast not everyone hates you Rob and most of the ones that used to have been won over anyway!:) Thankyou Summit for casting intellegent, talented,and commited actors to play the roles of Edward and Bella and not casting someone like Miley Cyrus and Zach Efron!

First off I’ve always liked Robert as Edward!
But…. it seems like because so many people criticized him as Edward in the Beginning he feels some resentment towards some of the “fans†so as a result is disregarding their thoughts and opinions on playing Edward!
I understand that as an actor you must find your own niche in playing a character, but what he said in the interview came across as bitter to say the least!

ok robert was not being cocky in that interview. he wasnt making up any stories about edward. look when you act your playing a role your supposed to feel like that person otherwise it wont be real. so he said that he made up what he believes edward would be feeling. then when he read midnight sun he specifically said he was surprised and pleased that what he was thinking was similar to stephenie’s midnight sun. you guys need to understand that robert cant just read the lines he has to feel as if he is edward. i didnt see him at all as bitter, he joked a lot.
Wow, that was really great to hear him talk so deeply and passionately about his character. I think he has a great understanding of who Edward actually is, not just who Bella sees. I’m impressed!

I STILL WISH THAT DURING AN INTERVIEW THAT INSTEAD OF ALWAYS JUST SAYING I ALWAYS WANT TI KILL BELLA…THAT THEY WOULD ADD THAT THE REASON EDWARD STRUGGLES WITH BEING AROUND HER SO MUCH AND MORE THAN OTHER VAMPIRES IS BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER SMELLED BLOOD AS STRONG AS HERS OR LIKE HERS THE WHOLE TIME HE HAS BEEN A VAMPIRE AN THAT IT’S MORE POTENT TO HIM THAN ALL OTHERS.
IT MAKES YOU REALIZE HIS STRUGGLE AND HOW MUCH HE MUST LOVE HER TO HAVE TO CONTROL HIMSELF SO MUCH AROUND HER.
I REALLY HOPE THEY DON’T FORGET TO ADD THIS INTO THE MOVIE AND I WISH THIS WAS SAID MORE SO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVNT READ THE BOOKS YET UNDERSTAND IT BETTER.
I’m really glad that Edward’s trying to make his role serious, because Edward is so complicated, and he’s not happy- the book, even, doesn’t have an entirely comfortable feeling. I think he really understands that.

I enjoyed the G4 interview. It was very good and it’s nice to here that Robert was a fan of the books before he got cast. However… as much as I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Robert during the interview, I was HIGHLY distracted by the guy eating in the background! What was up with that? ;D
Great Rob interview he knew what he wanted to say and he got it out. It’s good he’s really trying to take the characters apart it’s really allowing him to like live in his role. I felt so bad when he was like ‘when they announced I was Edward everything was 100% negative’ (that’s not an exact quote but…) WE LOVE YOU ROB YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
P.S. poor Rob’s groins…”terminal groin chaffing” that was hilarious. I love how he laughs at some of his jokes “have padded harnesses if you’re a vampire” *man giggle, man giggle*
