The Twilight Lexicon is thrilled to announce today that Borders has been paying attention to the fans’ requests and has stepped up to the plate to grant us all our wish of having midnight release parties for Breaking Dawn! At this time, we do not have a detailed list of which Borders stores will be participating, but from what we understand, there will be a midnight release party for Breaking Dawn at most Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks around the country. This doesn’t guarantee that every store will host a party, just that most of them will. Anyway you slice it, Borders gets our vote of thanks for being the first major bookstore to give Twilight fans this promise!
If you remember back to this time last year, Borders Media.com hosted a book club feature with Stephenie Meyer about Eclipse. It was a wonderful segment and if you haven’t yet seen it, you can check it out here at BordersMedia.com.
We also know that Borders has many more things like this in store for Twilight fans and supporters of the Twilight Lexicon. We thank them for their work and for being there for the fans along the way. We can’t wait to see what’s next from Borders!

D:D:D:D:D:, At the Border’s near me they keep changing there answer about have a release party- its breaking my heart… At first it was deffiently yes ( that was a month ago), then I called again( a few days ago) and they said Hmm, not really a party- but we may be open, and then today they said we have nothing planned at all, sorry… This deffienetly stinks…. Well if anyone knows of a release party in South Florida then please post on the plaza..please..

Here’s my plan. Because it’s the last book, other than Midnight Sun *crosses fingers*, my friends and I really want to make it last! We’re going to go to my friend’s cottage and read the first chapter out loud together, then restrain eachother from reading it too fast! That way we can really apprieciate and enjoy it! Not that we won’t be re-reading it too!

I got a hint that might do that. I walked into Waldenbooks two days ago to be very surprised: the whole back of the store was Twilight themed! Usually, the Twilight series was with the other teen romances, but now it has it’s own section. =D

So, I just called my local Borders and asked. He said “Absolutly! We don’t really have any say in the matter because we heard from headquarters that we’re having one. It probably won’t be the scale of Harry Potter (*hah you’ll see…*), but I’m sure there’ll be a few laughs, but yeah deffinatly.” So yay for me! Although seriously Borders people, stop relating it to Harry Potter. Twilight is so much more incredible.

I have a question for Pel or Alphie or any of the other mods:: I was wondering if you were planning on keeping the Lexicon a spoiler free site after the Host comes out, to give everyone a chance to read it. I’ve ordered a signed copy from Changing Hands and they said it will be ten to fourteen days after the event before I get my copy. The event is May 13th, I think. and I really don’t want to have to avoid the Lex for a month!! I would have loved to get a copy sooner, but how cool is a signed copy, right???

It’s great that Borders will be having parties. But just remember that Borders is likely going up for sale. Maybe it won’t even exist by the time the book arrives! Most Barnes & Noble stores will be having parties, too, so be sure to check with them. They will have more money to spend on better parties.
