The Twilight Lexicon is thrilled to announce today that Borders has been paying attention to the fans’ requests and has stepped up to the plate to grant us all our wish of having midnight release parties for Breaking Dawn! At this time, we do not have a detailed list of which Borders stores will be participating, but from what we understand, there will be a midnight release party for Breaking Dawn at most Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks around the country. This doesn’t guarantee that every store will host a party, just that most of them will. Anyway you slice it, Borders gets our vote of thanks for being the first major bookstore to give Twilight fans this promise!
If you remember back to this time last year, Borders Media.com hosted a book club feature with Stephenie Meyer about Eclipse. It was a wonderful segment and if you haven’t yet seen it, you can check it out here at BordersMedia.com.
We also know that Borders has many more things like this in store for Twilight fans and supporters of the Twilight Lexicon. We thank them for their work and for being there for the fans along the way. We can’t wait to see what’s next from Borders!

I work at a Barnes & Noble in NC and they have been planning a Breaking Dawn party since it was announced that there would be a fourth book.
Make sure that someone posts the details on that in our message boards in the release party plaza section.

i’m actually sitting in a borders right now loll how ironic. oo! i asked them when i first heard about being able to reserve the book if they were having a midnight party!! i hope i can convince my friends to go… the harry potter ones were sweet i would so not miss out on this. XD
Ah, this sounds so cool. Hopefully *crosses fingers* I’ll be working at Borders then, so I can help with the party and stuff! If not, I will totally be there!! I need to get more people to read these books besides my sister, she’s never going to go to a party with me and it wouldn’t be fun to go alone….
I just called called the Borders by me to ask about it…The employee who answered stated they hadn’t heard anything about plans for a party yet, and though she was familiar with the book I was talking about she said they probably wouldn’t have a party because it’s not ‘that big a deal’. I cut her off and kind of defensively laughed and said ‘Yes, it is a huge deal!’. To which she replied, ‘Yeah, but it’s not like Harry Potter or something’.
Oh gosh, I thought I would have to hang up on her right then and there. I decided to act like the mature 30-something that I am and just politely thank you and then hang up.
OMGOMGOMG! I hope they have one here.

yeah! they could never give me an answer, but they said they had many requests!!! Yeah I can’t wait!!! There are about 20 of us that were looking for a midnight release party and thankfully there are Border’s everywhere!!!

this is for Capricorn75, i cant believe that… well, i can but still! that employee should be ashamed that she could act that way to a costumer. the costumer is always right (unless they’re bashing twilight, by my rules) i dont work at a book store but i know that the emplyee should have been more careful.
Well, there may be gap in official word reaching all managers. Remember it’s not all, but most stores, so hopefully it’s one near you! So give it a little bit.
Alphie and I had a great conversation with the folks at Border’s headquarters. There is even more to come, so stay tuned.

When I preordered a copy of Breaking Dawn at my local Barnes and Noble, i was informed that they will be hosting a midnight release party for it. I am not sure, but since it is a chain store, I assume that other locations will have one as well.

COULD SOMEONE TELL ME IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A MIDNIGHT RELEASE TIME FOR BREAKING DAWN IN LONDON (E.G. WATERSTONES) COS IVE NEVER ACTUALLY BEEN TO AN LATE OPENING FOR A BOOK I GUESS THEY DID IT WITH HARRY POTTER SO THEY SHOULD DO IT WITH BREAKINGDAWN HELP PLEASE!
Unfortunately we have no Waterstone’s connection. We will ask about Borders in the UK, though.

I called the Borders in OKC and they said “probably…but they haven’t received official word from corporate yet.” BUT I called Barnes and Noble on May…and they ARE having a midnight release party!!!! YAY!!! I am so excited!!!

Borders is amazing, I was able to meet Stephenie on her “Eclipse” tour last year at my local Borders (Fairfax, VA) last year on Bella’s Birthday, Sept 13th.

Going to a Breaking Dawn release party was on the list of things to do with my best friend before she leaves. I’m so glad we’ll actually get to do it!
Aaand it’s Borders for the win! Haha! I hold much in store by my Barnes and Noob because I did all of my Harry Potter parties there…. But they haven’t said a peep about their party if they even have one. So I might be crossing over to the dark side on this one. Although if the Powells downtown does one I might have to wing it over there cause they’re HUGE. With lots of cubby wholes to hide in. ^.^ ~Cas P.s. That’s cool! But what’s even cooler is the Barnes and Noble 2 minutes away from me is have a midnight opening as well! I know the person that is running it too… she’s a huge Twilight fan too, so I’m SO excited.
