The Host Tour

Specifics on sites, on sale ticket dates, and signing dates can be found on Stephenie’s website.

Note that there are very specific signing rules in place largely due to the volume of people anticipated to attend each event. These rules are listed below. Our discussion forums will have a thread on each event location so fans in a give area can hook up.

  • You must have a ticket to attend any of the events, there is limited capacity for every event so get your tickets early as events are bound to sell out (except Mall of America where we are not restricting attendance).
  • Please note the date to obtain tickets for each location as it varies for every event.
  • Each ticket for the event requires the purchase of The Host (price details for each event are included below).
  • Stephenie’s presentation will begin with a discussion on The Host and then answer questions which have been pre-selected from questions submitted at the event (fans will have a chance to write down questions when they arrive at the venue — this is on a first come, first serve basis, she will not be able to get to all questions).
  • Stephenie will only personalize copies of The Host (personalize means puts your name in the book, i.e. "To Sarah").
  • She will only autograph 2 books in the Twilight Saga per customer (except for the Mall of America event where she is only signing The Host).
  • Stephenie will only sign books — no posters, t-shirts, etc.
  • You may take pictures during the presentation, but no photos are allowed during the autographing
  • If you can not attend these events, many of the stores are taking orders for The Host and you can order a signed copy, call the stores for more details.

The reason they assign one book per ticket is that the bookstores are the sponsors and they do this to make a profit especially since in most cases an off-site venue is being used. This involves rental of the facilities, lugging the books to the site, providing staff at the site while at the same time having staff in your regular store. So that is why they charge to attend and expect you to buy a book.

Think of it like the two-drink minimum that night clubs charge if you are going in to hear a band or see a comedian. It’s the same principle at work

If you are stuck buying an extra book, I’d get it signed, and then I’d recommend flipping it on Ebay. It’s not like no one will want it.

    I CANT GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL THESE PLACES ARE TOOOO FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Nikolas says:

    Good idea Pel.

I just got my tickets for Changing Hands signing about two hours ago. I’m so excited, I can’t wait! My mom only bought one ticket, though. She said she would just wait in the car because we can’t afford two books right now.

It says that Stephenie will only sign 2 books in the Twilight Saga, so does that mean that I can only get ONE COPY of the Host and two Twilight books, or does it mean I can get 2 twilight books and 3 copies of The Host? (theoretically, because I don’t have enough money for 3 copies)?

  4. Aziza says:

I’m all the way in South Africa! Theres no way she’s coming down here. My sister might be in Salt Lake City the day of the signing but theres no way we can buy tickets from here and the time she gets there the tickets will be sold out. Oh well….

  5. Shayla says:

omg!! I have to go!! My mom said she’d take me!! I hope she’s nice! Which I’m sure she totally is, though! Ahh! I’m gonna try and get a question in!!

  6. Becks says:

Those of us in Scotland might have to start a petition to get Stephenie over here! I wonder if she’ll sign my book if I send it to her?

  7. Shayla says:

and when I say she, I mean stephenie! Not my mom! I already know my moms cool! :)

  8. sprtygal says:

I called bright and early this morning and got my ticket. Ah, a sigh of relief. I’m in. I get to meet Stephenie!

  9. Nikolas says:

I’ve met Stephenie before, and she is nice. I hope I’ll be able to get a question in too. I have many. When I met her last time (during Eclipse signings) she was very nice, got many books signed very quickly. She even thanked me for coming to her signing. She was pretty too. I had a GREAT time, even though I was one of the last people to get my book signed.

  10. TaylorK says:

Wow, there’re a lot of restrictions… not that I don’t agree. It’s totally what I would do if I was Stephenie. I mean, I wouldn’t want people crowding my little bubble. And Stephenie, I am sure (though I don’t really know), is too nice to say ‘BACK OFF!!’ like I would… I would LOVE to get my book signed, but she is never anywhere NEAR where I live… That’s okay. I live through the people who’ve been there, I suppose. It’s a good life.

  11. Alison says:

    stephenie! come to michigan! =[

  12. I really disagree with the practice of whoever in the higher ranks is choosing her tour locations. They have been in the same locations as far as states and in some cases cities for the Twilight series tours and now the Host tour as well.

I just wish someone would take the diversity of her fan base into consideration.

  13. On another note, layout question for the staff: Why are we made to look like unintelligent fans by defaulting our text to all lowercase? I pride myself in good grammar. So it just bothers me a little. Just an idea for you though.

I’m not sure what you are referencing. What defaulting of lower case? The comments, as far as I know, allow for standard sentence structure.

    Pel~

I totally agree where in scotland are you from Becks?

  15. Ilana says:

aahhh stephenie meyer why can you never come to the east coast!
someone should email her begging to come here.
the east coast loves her, too!

  16. saranicole says:

Even if you can’t go to a signing, you can get a signed book from Changing Hands.

I guess the only question I have now is: Will Stephenie be answering questions about The Host at the signing or not. When I went to the New Moon signing at BYU, she wasn’t answering NM questions, since it was so soon after the book was released.

If I go to the signing and wait to get my book then, I don’t want a bunch of people spoiling it for me!

As for Stephenie: She’s super cool and super nice. She rocks!

  17. Fawndear says:

Just got my tickets to the Portland event on Ticketmaster. Even though I live over 4 hours away it will be worth the trip. Can’t wait!

  18. XxKoishixX says:

Aww no east coast dates :( that sucks hope everyone who’s going has a blast though!

  19. mackenzie says:

Im sooo happy she is coming to texas…she is friggin awesome!!

  20. Brianna says:

YES!!!! thanksgivining point here i come. that is actually in lehi not provo or salt lake but whatever! so she will sign 2 twilight saga books AND the host or just two total?

  21. Cat says:

hey why are there two adresses for SLC:
    (King’s English
1511 South 15th East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105)
    then there is:
(Highland High School Auditorium, 2166 S 1700 E, Salt Lake City, UT)
whats this mean? do you buy tickets from the first location then go to the other for the discution and signing??
or get tickets from the first location in advanced and then the day of go there get your book and go to the discustion and signing?

  22. edwardcullenmaniac says:

*tears* if Stephenie ever came to Illinois, I missed it…and she hasn’t come since I got into Twilight, and I NEED all my books signed…my friend has Twilight signed, and she’s become less obsessed with Twilight than I am!! I NEED it!!! so, if at any time she comes to Illinois, northern Illinois, preferably, PLEASE tell me!!!

  23. Ann says:

    Cat:

I called the store this morning. The King’s English is the place where you buy your ticket from and then they’re holding the actual signing at the High school. The woman said you can either pick up your ticket at the store beforehand or you can just get it when you go to the high school that day.

  24. Krista says:

I ordered two tickets for the Portland signing. One for me, the other for a friend.
I am so incredibly excited! Eep. =D

Hm. I’m in section GA. Does anyone know if this is a good spot? :P

  25. Janina says:

I wished I lived ANYWHERE near there.

  26. Teresa Cullen says:

sad sad… my mom won’t take me to the SLC one.. ugh my life sucks

  27. laurelflower93 says:

  28. Paige says:

  29. laurelflower93 says:

    oh… found it.

    my bad :]

  30. laurelflower93 says:

    that was my problem too.

what you have to do is scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, click on the rss feed symbol (the big orange one) and then click on the title of the announcement.

    hope it helps :D

  31. Harryfan says:

Woohoo! Purchased my tickets today! I got lucky, she’s coming to two places in my state. And one is within 10 minutes. I was a little chagrined, however, that we had to buy the tickets AND The Host. I would rather check The Host out at the library. I just want to see Stephenie.

  32. edwardlover says:

GO TO THE EAST COAST. she should have some variety and travel far

  33. edwardlover says:

but the people who can go, have fun!!!!!

  34. Ashley says:

I am soooooo excited! Stephenie has never come close enough to me for my mom to let me go to the signing. Now she’s only half an hour away and I get to go!

I know it says she’ll sign two of the Twilight series books, but do you think Stephenie will sign my copy of Prom Nights From Hell too?

  35. helen says:

    OMG!
I soooo wish i could go.. but
WHAT ABOUT US EAST COAST FANS?

    *tear tear

  36. Cassie (shadowed_light) says:

This is so cool! When I heard the news, I was overcome with excitement. =D

I’ll definitely be there, bright-eyed and attentive. That teaser they posted on Stephanie’s site (for The Host) was really intriguing! I can’t wait to read it.

Until then! Happy trails, everyone! Wherever this book tour may take you. ;D

  37. Rosalie says:

So does anyone think it would be tacky to show love and wear a twilight tee at a Host signing?? I’m going to the portland signing! YAY i got up at three when they announced it so i could be the first to buy tickets YESSSS

  38. Louise says:

I don’t think she’s going on a breaking dawn tour, is she?
And sorry for all you east coast people, maybe she’ll go in the future? I am going to the portland one… she should go to the other side of the country, though, she shouldn’t just stick to one side when her books are international…
is she signing 2 of the Twilight books as well as the host? the company shouldn’t make all of the atttendees buy a copy of the book – but I don’t suppose that they are doing this for those of us that can’t afford to buy multiple tickets. Maybe only make it be one a group…

  39. Dirk says:

Your post Twilight Lexicon » The Host Tour was very interesting when I found it over google on Saturday by my search for cam houston traffic. I have your blog now in my bookmarks and I visit your blog again, soon. Take care.
