I have been incredibly inspired by Stephenie in many different ways. First, I am so thankful for such an incredible example of someone who is not ashamed of, embarrassed by, and remains true to her faith. There are so many misinformed and incorrect ideas about the LDS religion, it could have been so much easier for her to leave “that part” of her life out of her bio. Yet Stephenie proudly states for the universe what her beliefs are. Stephenie uses her faith and morals to guide her writing, yet she does not shove religion down anyone’s throat. What an incredible example! Thank you for that! I, too, am LDS and I am so thankful for the wonderful example you are for so many people. I believe that you have been able to help others better understand that “Mormons” are people…with morals and values, we like music and movies, we like to have fun, we are “normal” in many ways….and we stand true to our faith and beliefs. Thank you for your example!

Also, I am a mommy and I have lived in my mommy-land for over six years. Don’t get me wrong….being a mom is the most incredible, wonderful thing I have ever done! I feel incredibly blessed to be a stay-at-home mom….but over the past six-plus years I have sort of lost myself. After reading Twilight I couldn’t get ahold of New Moon and Eclipse fast enough. I devoured every word. I could not read fast enough. I stayed up all night to read, I couldn’t stand to put the books down. Even when I tried, I would just lay in bed thinking about what I was missing out on, so I would get up to read more. I went through three sets of batteries in my flashlight from reading in bed so I wouldn’t wake up my husband. I was obsessed! And it felt INCREDIBLE to think about something just for ME. It was so amazing to feel passionate about something that was just for ME. I NEVER think about just ME any more. I have always loved reading and writing, yet over the years I have allowed that love to be pushed further and further to the back of my mind. But not any more! I have been reading more classics, writing more, I have renewed my love of music. I have had some great conversations with friends about the books….and we’ve used our own creative minds to make bets on what is to come in Breaking Dawn.=)

I feel like a woman again. I feel like ME again. I feel like it is okay to have a passion for something that has absolutely nothing to do with being a wife and a mom. I feel ALIVE. I gave a girlfriend the set of books for Christmas this year because she also has little children and feels like she has slipped into the mommy world and lost herself. While I know she will love the books, I was really hoping that the “gift” would be the same renewed passion and an awakening of herself which I will forever be thankful for.

Thank you, Stephenie, for all that you have given to us. Thank you for your sleepless nights. Thank you for your sacrifice of time. Thank you to your family for sharing you with us! Thank you for all that you are, all that you have done and all that you continue to do.

I can’t even begin to say how much you have inspired me. It still shocks me when I’m reading your books over and over again that there is actually a genius behind all of the amazing characters that make this fictional story seem so real. That you are actuallly Alice and Edward and Esme. You are such a talented individual. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
