This is server upgrade 5 & 6 in case anyone is keeping track. When the Robert Pattinson news broke, we we’re having some unrelated problems anyway. Things went from bad to worse with the volume. To paraphrase our server company, "Do you people realize you’ve had over 300,000 hits in the last half hour? What the heck kind of site are you people running?" So we are now back alive and running.
We’ve made some repairs, such as the Forkscasts being back up. If anything seems amiss let us know we may have missed something. Kudos to Darkseid for dealing with all of this. Without him, we wouldn’t be running right now.

Hooray! I’d begun to wonder. Is it just me, or are a couple of the ForksCasts missing…?

I was seriously in tears last night because I couldn’t find anything out, but I knew that Edward had been cast! But it’s all good now.

ahaha! When I saw them talking about it on IMDB, and you can never be sure so, I’m trying to upload SM’s site and Lexicon wouldn’t load and I was freaking out, then I saw that it went down, and I was like damn all those crazy Twilight fans…then finally SM’s site loaded and it was all good…but yea…jeez…your poor server company…

You guys are so great! I can’t believe all the stuff you all do behind the scenes to create such a great, fun place for all of us to come and play! Thanks Darkseid, Alphie, Pel and everyone else who works SOO hard making sure we aren’t all stressing out our ‘playground’ is gone again.

It’s just strange, because it seems like there hasn’t been that many actual members on the boards lately, even in spite of the news. Maybe there’s a lot of lurkers?

It was 300,000 in 30 minutes and it continued that way for two days. It seems the only sites that get that type of intense traffic are major retailers like Macy’s or people who are selling…er…other things.
We also crashed the front page site counter at 3,000,000 hits.

I really thought it was something to do with my computer, I guess I need to learn that my computer is fine, and that the lex is a large site with small servers. Don’t blame yourselves, blame steph for writing such an amazing series!!!!!!

I had sent the link to the site to one of my friends and she got all upset and accused me of sending her the wrong link in a panic because she couldn’t get on the site.

Yay, I missed the Lexicon! It felt weird not being able to check on the latest news…ok, confession – it was weird having my homepage down!
Thank goodness, the lex is all fixed. It was scary not being about to get on. I kept checking every half hour, seeing if the server was up yet, I spend so much time on the lex, it was quite upsetting not to be able to get on the site, that takes up so much of my time.
Yay, for the upgrade though, I love the fact that there are so many people on this site, it makes it all the more exciting.!!

I was wondering why the front page had nothing on it & why it gave some error message when I was trying to look @ the character bios. I don’t know how many ppl are on here on any average day but I know there has been at least one more on here in the last couple of weeks! The important thing is that you got it back up! I was frantic trying to get ahold of anything about Robert Pattinson. Learning that your site was down pushed me over the edge and a mile out! Thank you for getting the site back up. It brought me back to my usual, sane self.
I suggest that Hayden Christensen should be considered as the role of Edward Cullen in the movie. He would be GREAT! No offence or anything, but Robert Pattinson isn’t good looking enough to be Edward.

But, I think we should give him a shot and when the movie comes out, go into the theater without prejudices against Robert.
Who knows? He may turn out to be a great Edward. So, let’s give him a chance and wish him good luck.
After all, we can always send the people at Summit hate mail if the movie 100% sucks.
The day Robert Pattinson got signed, I was frantically trying to contact lexicon, but it didn’t work. And that led to me practically going insane. Thank god you’re back!
I agree with Gillian B. Especially on the hatemail part. Hehe, Summit are going to be bombarded with hatemail from all over the world if Robert Pattinson isn’t a good enough Edward.
He wasn’t who I wanted to be Edward, but I guess I have to live with that. After all, like Stephenie said, no human actor is good looking enough to be Edward. I’m taking comfort from that….
