No news…?
Posted by Twilight_News_Updates - 06/12/07 at 08:12 pmI have had several e-mails from various people around the fandom commenting on how quiet the lexicon has been lately. I’ve even read over at the IMBD message boards that there is a belief that we know all about the casting of the movie and are keeping things from the fans on purpose. Folks, let me set the record straight once and for all.
Aside from a few plot points that will come out in the next book, I know nothing. I did contact Stephenie weeks ago about the casting and requested that someone at the lexicon be notified as soon as a casting notice was made. We were, and I thanked her for it. I’ve been told that when the next casting notice comes out a similar situation will occur and I will be told so I can pass the information on to the fans. But as of this moment, I know nothing more than you do! In fact, I would say that many of you know more than I do because you read the gossip. Having been through all of this before in the HP fandom, I am inclined to sit back and wait before I get excited or upset about anything. I promise you – PROMISE you that the MOMENT I hear anything official from Stephenie, Little Brown, or Summit, it will be posted on the lex. In fact, the entire mod squad has been told to call me on the phone regardless of the hour if they see something that should be posted on the front page.
Trust me! I would not keep such important news as the casting of Edward a secret from so many salivating fans! I’m just as anxious for the news as you are!

Actually quite the contrary to what you will believe, romance has gone very far within the movie industry… I’m sure this movie will be no exception.

I’m sure its not the news some people want to hear, but it is nice at least getting some answers straight. As much as people want to know who is cast, none of us are going to go insane so of course we can sit it out wait patiently. Thanks again Alphie.

I think most fans (myself) included would much rather believe that you know casting information and aren’t releasing it for whatever reason than admit that Summit is still in the casting process for Edward.

Thank you, Alphie for clearing this up once and for all. I can see how this must be so annoying for you to have an entire fanbase ask you about “WHY ISN’T EDWARD CAST YET?!?!? DO YOU KNOOOOOOW WHO HE IS?” And your patience has been astounding. As someone said before, “I would call it quits by now.” Yep, so would I.

Hey thanks for letting us know. i really cant wait till the whole cast is desided. I have been hearing alot about some peolpe are getting little scenes from the movie, called sides? i was wondering if you knew anything about this and if it was possible that you could post some. i dont know much else about them except i found out about them at them IMDb website, the twilight section in the comments… and if anyone else knows anything about it please reply and tell me whats up!!! THANKS
~~~ The sides everyone is talking about are the slices of script that were used in the auditioning process for casting. I have seen them and I LOURVE them. If this is any sigh for how well the movie will go, then we are all in for a real treat as everything I’ve seen so far is pretty much SPOT ON. However, I can’t post them at the lexicon without being sued by Summit. The script is the scriptwriter’s copywrited material and does not belong to me. If they wanted the material out for public use, they would post it publicly without charging for access to them. If I posted them here, I would run the risk of having the site shut down. But trust me when I say that pretty much what you read in the book… is what is in the script! Really great stuff!

I knew that if the lex hadn’t posted anything for news, then they had nothing to say. It’s like with being an admin for a group on facebook. I’m the admin for “Addicted to Twilight Fanfiction” on Facebook, and I barely change the news because I don’t have anything to say. Kind of off topic…

LOL, the thought of you wonderful ladies keeping information from us is rather amusing–other than novel details that cannot be released to the public, that is. I’ve always been happy with how prompt the Lexicon has been with posting Twilight related updates; only a handful of times have I found out something before it was posted here.

I wanted to thank you for being honest and admitting that you DO know some plot points for the next book. I appreciate and respect that you told us the truth on that. When the HP actors kept saying that they know nothing about what will happen in DH, then we find out afterwards that Dan knew he had a death scene, and Rupert and Emma both knew they’d end up together, and other details like that, it was very annoying. I wished they’d just told us from the beginning that they do know, but for obvious reasons, they can’t tell us. Which you did. So thank you!
~~~I’ve been "in the know" for a few years now. I read New Moon and Eclipse back to back before New Moon was published. If you look at the back of Eclipse, there is a thank you to Lori Joffs… that’s me! Pretty cool huh? So I’ve known a few things for a long time. It’s not new news that I have some future plot points. I’ve been open about that for a while. It’s the main reason I don’t post very much in the message boards. I can’t speculate!

Nicky: i read those sides and i’m pretty sure they’re at least kind of real. I mean, even if they are i’m sure by the time the movie is done they will have made quite a few changes.. but i’m pretty sure that they’re mostly real, because someone who has IMDB pro. got them.

Most likely.. we won’t get to hear anything. So don’t get your hopes up. Stephenie is keeping this one a big secret this time. And if that’s the case, Alphie would never give anything away.
omg i’m gonna be so mad if the movie isn’t as good as the books (as if it would be) what if edward isn’t as hot as he is described?? what if…??? THIS IS GONNA DRIVE ME BIZZERK!

Is there anyone else in this entire world that agrees with me and DOESN’T want that movie to come out??? Who doesn’t wait anxiously for the casting of a most beloved character, but dreads it? I mean, you can be 100% sure that the movie will not make the book any better, it’ll just ruin it. Anyways, I am hoping they’ll change their minds about making it, and if they don’t, then I’m avoiding it like a plague.
You know, I guess where just not used to something not happening. I mean the largest gap is maybe a week at most. Something is always happening whether it’s related to to the books, the movie, Stephenie, or this site. I think we’re just all getting spoiled by the number of "sightings" of Twilight lately. When you think about it, those breaks are usually punctured by the chapter discussions. But i do have a question to ask, and i totally realize the amount of time and effort it would take to do this stuff, but are there any Eclipse updates to be made?? Like the Werewolf family tree or the Cullen household? We haven’t heard anything for that in a long time. I almost forgot about it to tell you the truth….
~~~ The werewolf f family tree is done, I’m just trying to find the best interactive way to upload it to the site. And the Cullen house is currently in the hands of an amazing archetect who is trying to get a working "walk though" for us to use. Cool. huh?

To the person talking about the Harry Potter people knowing stuff before the books came out, i agree with you that they should have just told us that they know. However, of course Rupert and Emma knew they were going to get together, it was a teensy-weensy bit OBVIOUS. *suddenly a thought pops into head. nervously glances around for angry harry/hermione shippers. backs away slowly*
