Summit Entertainment has now officially listed Twilight in its pre-production section. They also have a poster mock-up that is heavily based on the original book cover (this is not to say it is the final poster design.).

While I was reading the summary on Summit’s website, I noticed that they never mentioned Victoria as being one of Edward’s “enemies”. Does that mean that her character will not be in the movie? Then how will they make New Moon or Eclipse into a movie?

i really am attached to the book and i hope the film will follow the book at least… lets hope they dont ruin the entire project! if they do ruin it though i will be really dissapointed… but i am still looking forward to it!
This is pretty exciting. And we have an official title now. Fanatic. Who knew?? I actually like the image. It’s catchy, and original, for movies at least. They’ll probably change it, but that’s okay too.

I will be the excited dork wearing Twilight merchandise (hat and shirt– the whole ensemble), books in my hand, in the theater taking compare/contrast notes (and vigorous ones at that).
I just hope that my friends can stop me if I throw something at the screen that I do not agree with… or if I scream when E.C. shows up…or if I squeal when they show Forks, the meadow, or… the VOLVO.

I mean I’m so happy that things are actually moving and summit is posting it and all but… have you read the synopsis? since when has Renee SENT bella to Forks, and since when are Laurent and James the Cullen’s mortal ennemies? They didn’t even know each other before they met at the game…
so it’s made me think… I hope they haven’t changed the plot!!!!

AHHH! This is exciting. I can not wait! The only thing that bothers me is that they say that Bella is sent to Forks, not that she chooses to go there. And, what happened to Victoria?! They say that James and Laurent go to Forks for Bella. That irks me. But, as long as they make it close to the book I will be satisfied. Also, Any news on who is gonna play Edward?

ok, i’ve noticed that pretty much EVERYBODY has been freaking out about the synopsis. now you have to remember, the people who wrote that have probably only read the book like ONCE. they dont pick up every single detail like we 10-time readers do. they probably misunderstood a few things too. dont worry about it. they’ll fix it, i promise

Last time I checked, ol’ Vicky was quite a big part of the story. I understand them saying that James and Laurent are the Cullens’ mortal enemies, since that makes it more exciting, but…still. No Victoria?!

Don’t worry yet – movie summaries provided by the summaries years before they are released tend to be vague, somewhat misplaced, and erroneous when compared to the final product. I am positive that we will see our beloved Victoria in the film.
I must commend them for giving such a fine description of the fandom, though.
As, if you think about it, Victoria doesn’t play a huge role in Twilight. Her role is bigger in New Moon and Eclipse.

I can’t wait!!!! From what I read on the website, it looks like the movie will follow the book very closely, and I’m happy Summit Films didn’t take the book and make it into something totally different.
The only thing I didn’t really get was the whole Laurent and James are the Cullen’s mortal enemies thing. But I suppose you have to do something to spice up the plot a little bit. Other than that, it looks like it’s gonna be a blockbuster movie!!!
i am so excited for this movie. the fall and winter of next year will be amazing. first, breaking dawn will finally be out! and then the movie is said to be released in december of next year. so i’m just completely ecstatic. the only bad part is we all have to wait so long.
but it’s worth it.
ahh and the fact that they’re using the cover of the book for the movie poster is pretty much grand. haha.

well you know, movies cut characters all the time. Laurent might be the big villian in Eclipse. He would be a kinda composite character i think, but who knows they just might say that Victoria was connected to James later and leave her outta Twilight and bring her back for Eclipse….
I soooo can’t wait for the movie. Even though it will never ever measure up to my expectations (cough **harry potter movies** cough) I still can’t wait to see it!!

Yay! IMO just enough info in the synopsis to get people who aren’t TWILIGHT readers curious about it…. And I’m already intrigued by how they’re adapting the story for a more general audience and not just the “fanatic fanbase” (ha) by making Laurent and James “Enemies of the Cullens”. Lots of opportunity there for new action scenes and other nefarious activity!
I’m thinking, if the movie is a box-office success, they’ll pull in Victoria for the sequels if she’s not actually appearing in the first movie…she doesn’t really have to make an appearance to be a secondary character in the first movie – they can always just mention her or talk to her on the phone…besides one less secondary character saves money toward the FX budget.
I’m surprised that no one’s pointed out the fact that Bella’s mother ‘SENT’ her to Forks in the summary, not that Bella chose to go herself.
Even if they get a few things wrong, I am SO excited. Yay. :]
