Prom Nights from hell

In case, like me you just received a bunch of gift cards to bookstores, here’s a suggestion.

The Prom Nights From Hell, a book of prom oriented short stories featuring authors such as Meg Cabot (of Princess Diaries fame), Stephenie, and other YA authors, is now available for pre-order from both Amazon and Barnes and Nobel. You can see there is a bit a of pricing war going on there. Amazon has the paperback for $9.99 while Barnes and Nobel has it for $8.99. Currently Barnes and Nobel is also advertising a hardback version for $12.23 which is not a bad deal on a hardcover book at all.

The book is also available for our English speaking European fans at Amazon UK and our Canadian fans via Amazon Canada

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Happy Birthday Stephenie

On December 24 Stephenie celebrates her birthday!

BYU Event

As Stephenie has mentioned on her site, she will be at her Alma Mater, BYU, taking part in the Midwinter Symposium on Books for Young Readers.  It should be noted that this event does cost money as it can be used for college credit should you be interested in fullfilling certain requirements.  So this is not a free event.

Jazzygeorgie and a few others are putting together a meet-up for Lexiconer attending. Right now plans for a dinner are in the works on Saturday, February 3, 2007.  You do not need to go to the Symposium to meet up for dinner.  All Twilight fans in the area are invited.

There is also the possibility of a I Love Edward Party at another time, but that is still in the works.

If you are interested in meeting up for the dinner contact Jazzygeorgie by Jan 15 so she can get a headcount. You can email here here ssugrad94@yahoo.com

If you are flying in for the event the Marriott at the Provo Convention Center has a good rate if you mention that you are there for the conference.

Chat is moving…again

Sorry everyone, but we have had to move the chatroom to a new location. The company that currently hosts chat is discontinuing the service as of January 1, 2007. So the new location of chat is right here. The link has also been added to our navigation sidebar.

I would like to add a word of advice about the new chat room.  When you first log into the chat, you will get the most annoying pop up box alerting you every time a message is posted.  To get rid of this box, simply right click in the chat room window and select the popup reminder to turn it OFF!  trust me.  You will go mad if you don’t do this right away.

Nashville Forks-Casts

At long last the files have been converted, uploaded, and are now available for your listening amusement.  In other words, I finally got around to posting the podcasts, or as we like to call there here Forks-Casts, we did about Nashville.  You can find them along with previous episodes here.

The first Nashville one is a little long in downloading, but hopefully worth the wait.

I also want to remind everyone that I just added male focused and Jacob focused items to the Cafepress Lexicon Shop so please check it out.

The Eclipse Prom Update

Stephenie’s website is updated with the correct date for the Eclipse Prom. It will officially be May 5, 2007 with the exact times and site in Phoenix TBA. Now what is a Prom without a prom favor? Stephenie had this to say on her website, and it’s way better than the typical cheesy prom beer mug.

The Eclipse Prom will officially be held on May 5, 2007. The time will be announced later, but it will probably in the afternoon. Also for sure: I’m going to be allowed to read the first chapter of Eclipse "

I’m editing this message to address a few comments some of you have said below.  The Lexicon WILL NOT have a recording of any reading Stephenie does for this evevnt – or for any event.  We will not have a copy of the chapter posted anywhere on the website.  I’m sure Stephenie will post chapter one of Eclipse on her web site the same way she has posted other items in the past.  You will have to install Adobe Reader to access the information.  The reason being that this is copywrited material and she wants to prohibit unauthorized copies of text from being created.

Holiday Shopping

  1. I’ve had about a dozen e-mails lately from fans and mom’s of fans asking about how they can get Twilight products for Christmas.  Until I can figure out how to change the links on the side of the Lexicon, I figured I post the link to the Cafe Press shop in here.

The Lexicon Gift Shop

Remember that all the products have a very minimal mark up from the original price.  We only make a dollor or so off of the larger items and even less off of the smaller ones.  All the extra funds go right back into the running of the lexicon so that we can stay on line and add free.  So far we’ve raised enough money to cover the server upgrade, which is WONDERFUL!  Bookmark the site and direct your parent’s to the page so that I don’t have to continue sending indvidual e-mails to everyone!  LOL!  If there is enough interest, we might change the "Edward Lover" products to that of "Jacob Lover" for a short time.  Leave a message if you would be interested in Jacob related products.

I hope you all have a wonderful Twilight filled holiday!

Quick update

We’ve added Chapter 22: Hide and Seek and Chapter 23: The Angel to the Twilight chapter section.  We should have the rest of the book finished by the end of the week.  You can discuss chapter 22 over at the message boards.  We will post the discussion for chapter 23 tomorrow.

In light of the fact that we are finishing up Twilight, the chapter discussion for New Moon will begin very shortly.  If you have been asked to lead one of the chapter discussions, please send me your chapter ASAP so that I can get them organized and ready to post.  You can send it to twilight@twilightlexicon.net with your chapter number in the subject line.

Lots of news today

First of all thank to Lexicon user Alice who posted a heads up that you can now pre-order Eclipse and The Prom Nights From Hell from Amazon Canadian. The Prom Nights From Hell currently only has Meg Cabbot’s name attached to it, but devoted Stephenie fans have known for months that Stephenie is one of the authors who wrote a story in this book coordinated by Meg Cabbot. I’m also slightly amused in that Amazon Canada thinks Stephenie has written another book called "Fascination".  When you look carefully, it’s just the softcover edition of Twilight. (Edited: Stephenie has pointed out below that it is the French version..makes sense in Canada)

I’m sure the above will shortly be available from the USA version of that site. According to Stephenie (she updated her website today which will bring me to the next part momentarily), Eclispe will be available in August 2007.  Keep in mind folks that we don’t have an official date and that this info might change slightly over the next few months. Suffice to say, when we know details, you’ll know details.

Stephenie has put up some new covers for non-USA versions of Twilgiht and New Moon. Does anyone else think it looks like Bella made a pitstop at the Tuesday Addams house of fashion on the UK covers?

Next, Stephenie added a new New Moon outtake (you need Adobe Acrobat to read the PDF file) from Rosalie’s point of view. For reasons that are utterly obvious when you read the preface I am deeply humbled, stunned, thrilled ( I’m running out of adjectives) that Twilight Fanfiction and Fanart was able to inspire Stephenie to write from an alternate point of view.

Lastly, it seems that Stephenie will be quite busy in the near future:

"… I’ll be mostly MIA for the next half year or so—I need to write a 600+ page book by June, while editing a 800+ page book by April. A mental breakdown is a definite possibility…"

I believe that the 600 page book is Breaking Dawn, the title for book four (still stunned that I suggested that title a couple of months back and it is now the title), and that the 800+ page book is her sci-fi novel The Host.

And last but not least, Stephenie updated her calendar. Aside from some local Arizona signings, and a prestation at her alma mater, BYU, Stephenie will be hosting an event in Phoenix called "The Eclipse Prom". If you are wondering what in the heck The Eclipse Prom is, I direct you to Stephenie’s MySpace.

Excuse me while I toddle off now, I’ve been uber Stephenied
